Not bad honestly, but I worry that the more I listen to this record, the lower of a rating it’ll get. But until that happens… Rock Your Body is fire.
It’s really impressive to have an album of this size and only have really two or three songs that seem skippable. Great stuff and the singers voice doesn’t get too annoying to me… I just have to take a break from it every now and then.
Being French and gay doesn’t automatically make an album a classic like a majority of critics claim for this LP.
This is honestly glorified H&M music. It’s not nearly as “ambitious” or different of a message than what we’ve already received from other queer artists who have made much more talented works of art than this. This album is fine within the lane of mainstream synth-pop, but it’s nothing that’s really worth a listen outside of that. ... read more
Connected was really the only song in here that kept me hooked for more than 2 minutes. Most of these songs are decent ideas that don’t really go anywhere special. Enjoyable as background music but pretty boring to listen to fully focused on it.
I actually thoroughly enjoyed this record, even with the first half being the obvious stronger half of this record, there was still a decent amount of catchy and fun bangers in the second half, even if they weren’t as high of quality as the beginning. Not A Lot To Do and Don’t Ever Think (Too Much) were both highlights to me in the latter half of this fun album. Not the overall craziest and best vocals or instrumentation but it doesn’t need to be for me to enjoy it, I’m ... read more
Most people find and listen to this record because critics swear it’s a 60s masterpiece… however in retrospect, it’s very underwhelming and not that interesting of a listen.
Eminem doesn’t fail to build a haunting world in this album that is very uniquely his own. Whether you like it or not it’s definitely something that changed the world of rap. It very uniquely shows a grim dark side of human nature in a way that uncomfortably keeps you immersed in many of the songs’ stories; whether consciously done or not that’s how I interpret this album.
I say all of this to say that I understand the impact, influence, and overall talent that this ... read more
People tend to be a little…wrong… when rating this album. No, the good songs on this album are not only the three hits and no, you’re not special for thinking that.
There’s songs on here that I think are better than the hits. Weekend Wars honestly sticks out to me more than Time To Pretend, and gosh dangit Of Moons, Birds & Monsters is so underrated what the flip. 4th Dimensional Transition is solid, too, and offers a grander psychedelic pop experience than the ... read more
Absolutely beautiful and fun in every way. Just talented musicians doing their thing and all coming together as one tight unit.
I can tell that I’m gonna have some random parts of these songs just stuck in my head for the next few days… I’m gonna sound so stupid trying to sing it.
This album is very unique in its approach, themes, instrumentation, vocals, and completion. All of this is the pretentious and yap-filled way to say this is an interesting album.
I really do have a weak spot for unique singers and it’s just really cool how many melodic lines in the tracks feel standalone and unique ... read more
For 1966 this has just had much of a somewhat experimental sound and structure as the Beach Boys album that owns this year. The first three songs in this album were the strongest for sure, with fun melodies, interesting harmonies and fun instrumental details thrown in throughout.
The Castle and Revelation come out a little bland which brings the album experience down a tad. The Castle is fine overall just not my personal favorite but Revelation is just a chore to get through. It’s got ... read more
Everything about this album just works. Every instrument is so cutthroat and Kurt’s vocals just bleed into your soul. It’s just classic grunge by the band that defined the genre. They’re literally giving the layout on this album on how to make an amazing grunge album, and they’re still one of the only bands to really do it perfectly. Tourette’s is really the only “low” of this album, and it’s still decent. Scentless Apprentice can be kinda ... read more
This genre isn’t usually my style but I honestly enjoyed this album more than I thought I would. Song quality was pretty consistent all throughout the record and there wasn’t a single song that I actively disliked. Some were mid, And The Band Played Waltzing Matilda dragged on for a little too long, but I still liked its idea.

Overall this was a fun listen. Nothing too groundbreaking in the scene of rap but it doesn’t have to be to be enjoyable. I think this artist has great potential and this album was a great intro for me into some of the things they’re capable of. I think with more professional and production it would shape these songs a lot better but I really like the idea of most of these songs.
Fun vibes, fun album.
This debut album had a lot of strong choices. They definitely didn’t play it safe with a simple and basic album that matched their style. It’s impressive how much they blended together on this album. I think the first half of the album had a stronger consistency with song quality and just overall listening experience. Things tended to get a little chaotic and messy in the second half. Still some great songs in between with Slow Country and 19-2000. But overall it just didn’t ... read more
