Malcolm Todd - Do That Again
80

I've never been begged to listen to an artist like I have been for Malcolm Todd, so I am glad I finally got to it. This guy is actually masterful at creating choruses, it is amazing. The instrumentals on this record were very smooth and pleasant all throughout, and they complemented his voice quite well. He is really wearing his influences on his sleeve too, these instrumentals could absolutely be Steve Lacy, and I wouldn't be able to tell. My biggest critique is that the lyricism is ... read more

Alex Warren - PASSENGER
35

Just sooooo bland, takes no risks at all, formulaic and uninteresting. This was a bit better than other songs I've heard from him in that the vocals were bearable and not TOO drowned in pitch perfect autotune, but this is music is what is and has been wrong with pop music.

Steve Lacy - the feeling

Thank you Steve

Taylor Swift - I Knew It, I Knew You
79

Very pleasantly surprised by this!

Bebe Rexha - Sad Girls

When David Guetta finds out there's such a thing as overproducing maybe he will be good. I am a hypocrite in a way though because if this came out in 2016 I would've probably loved it.

Latto - Big Mama
48

Although this is a low rating, this album actually really surprised me. There were some high highs, most notably on what is by far and away the best track, Business and Personal (Intro) That beat switch hit hard but even before the switch I loved that buttery smooth instrumental at the beginning.
It must be noted that this album has quite a bit of features, but they vary in quality greatly. The best one for me personally was surprisingly the Odeal feature off of Anxious, absolutely loved those ... read more

Ravyn Lenae - Handle
29

Man, I knew her name from Lauder Too by JID, so I decided to give it a spin, and I'm so annoyed. What even was this??? The vocals were ear piercing and unnecessarily doubled and came on WAY TOO STRONG at the beginning and the music video was purposeless and unremarkable. I genuinely flinched when her vocals came in dude what was that. The instrumental was fine and I kind of liked that little descending bass melody in the verses, and some of her backing vocals were pretty stellar, but ... read more

Ariana Grande - hate that i made you love me
55

Really enjoyed the instrumental, but overall, this song was not that interesting or unique. It was fun and a slight changeup in Ariana's sound, but still so basic and boring. This would be a straight 50 if it wasn't for the awesome music video.

PJ Harvey - Rid of Me
74

Really unique take on a breakup album, very experimental and extreme song structures built over raw and sexual lyrics. The Albini production enhances the high moments on the album greatly, most notably on the final track, Ecstasy, where the heavy guitar match up with that deep and hard bassline, and then the changing of chord hits RIGHT at the kick on the 6 and I cum everywhere. This album is very horny but comes off euphoric in like a heroin type of way and not like a joy happy sunshine way. ... read more

Aretha Franklin - Amazing Grace
94

Boy oh boy oh boy. I always really liked Aretha and considered her a very solid and impactful musician, but this elevated her to a whole new level. I truly think if I closed my eyes and put this album on, I would begin to float away into the clouds. I am not understating it when I say this might have the best vocals out of any album I have ever heard. Also, the fact that Mick Jagger and Charlie Watts were just there at the church is really funny to imagine. Two skinny British dudes just going ... read more

Car Seat Headrest - Teen of Denial: Joe's Story
65

Teens of Denial is one of my favorite albums of all time, and this is basically the same but some songs are a bit worse lol. I still enjoyed it alot but the lowish rating is simply because I am confused as to why they decided to re do this and not one from the low quality era (How to Leave Town remake would save lives). I will never complain about new CSH music but why this record lol, it was already basically perfect

Pulp - Different Class
81

Jarvis Cocker is channeling his "complaining David Bowie" on this one and it sounds great

Pinup - Test Your Luck
84

goated local AZ band drops goated album
I live somewhere with a good music scene 🥹🤞🙏

Otis Redding - Otis Blue: Otis Redding Sings Soul
86

Full of soulful renditions of classic tracks featuring that needed Otis Redding soulfulness that every song could use a bit of. Gone way too soon, but here we are still appreciating him in 2026

The Notorious B.I.G. - Life After Death
65

This is a tough one to rate. There is some straight fire throughout this thing, some good songs, and then some songs that are good but have the worst people ever on them (R. Kelly, Diddy. A lot of Diddy.). Not to mention the insanely misogynistic lyrics featured all across this thing. As a hip-hop fan, you become numb to rappers referring to women as “bitches” or “hoes,” but this is just crazy. Nonetheless, speaking only about the music, it is really really great and the ... read more

Sonic Youth - Daydream Nation

Everything I love about alt rock. Feels almost nostalgic but also really groovy, experimental, and interesting. Just such a terrific record

Love - Forever Changes
83

Very unique and experimental for its time!

D'Angelo - Brown Sugar
94

Soulful, buttery smooth, and flawless.

The Rolling Stones - Beggars Banquet
78

Really engaging moment and fun moments of experimentation with other genres, but executionally not amazing. Sympathy for the Devil is a classic and timeless beginning. Overall, a really good record and a fun listen.

"This is a great review, but I HAVE to disagree about Louisiana. The vocal effect he had matched with those unique drums and that really cool part where the instrumental gets louder lowkey reminds me of In Rainbows. It’s probably the best on the album for me, but there’s other tracks that match up with it for sure."
