I honestly thought I would never give a new album a 100, purely for the fact that I think an album needs time to prove itself as perfect. I genuinely don't think this album could be any better. This is, without doubt, one of the best-sounding pieces of music I have ever heard, bar none. The variety in the tracklist is wide enough to not be dull, but cohesive enough for it not to seem like a mess.

Midwest Emo is such an overlooked genre that is constantly brushed aside as 'gimmicky' or kinda cringe. But this album is fucking amazing. The mix is genuinely insane, would recommend to anyone that enjoys math rock or indie rock as a whole.
There's something very tasteful about this album. Although Wolf Parade may not exactly be creating a new sound on Apologies to the Queen Mary, the songs feel inventive and progressive with clear influences without being derivative
Even two tracks in- there is such an interesting amalgamation of sounds here. Particularly, with Lullaby, the entrancing, lush instrumental with accents of post-rock makes for such contrast with the Beatles-like melodies that float over top.
The second half of On a Neck, On a Spit was also a clear highlight of the album for me, the more traditional instrumentation and melody provide a needed break from the abstractness of the previous tracks.
