There's no such thing as a perfect song, but this is pretty close to it.
This album is way too long. Several of the songs do not deserve their run times, and it creates a bloated album. However, it is still an enjoyable experience.
There can be no perfect song, but Love Will Tear Us Apart is pretty close to it.
Solid release, if a bit repetitive. You can only reinvent the wheel so many times.
Solid mix of some filter house classics. A rare CD, but worth having just for how good it is.
Favorite: Boogie Shell
Less cohesive than its forefathers, but still a solid album. Tony Iommi never fails when it comes to riffs, but some songs really shouldn't have been on here.
The highs of Mogwai Young Team are emotionally devastating, though it can drag on for slightly too long.
This sounds like a generic metal song in the worst way possible, AND they mixed out the bass.
This album is boring. The same slow, droning riffs play over the same simple drum beats repeatedly, and it gradually shifts into audio torture. Aside from a few standouts, this is just music to tune out to in the worst way possible.
The first four tracks are really good, but after that, it declines into music that at times becomes boring and makes you question why you're still listening to it.
Best songs: Hole in the Sky, Symptom of the Universe, Megalomania
Genuinely great album. The use of the synthesizer elevates it with a dated, yet timeless feel. However, it does peter out slightly near the end.
This album could do without the last 3 songs. They add unnecessary time to this album, and it becomes somewhat of a slog. Otherwise, an enjoyable listen with soul-crushing riffs.
This wasn't bad at all. It's definitely not as good as their genre-creating work from earlier in the decade, but this would be a lesser band's best work. The album cover is also actual FIRE.
There is a lot of avant-garde influence on this film. The artistic choices are incredible and most of the shots go hard. My only gripe is that some of the scenes can go on for a bit too long, but that's somewhat of a staple with avant-garde films.
Probably one of the best live performances of all time, I'm not kidding. You're doing a disservice to yourself by not listening to this album.
Slipknot will never be able to return to Iowa's rage, but this is a much more mature and sustainable mimicry. However, the interludes on this album can be a drag, and there are a bit too many of them. The track 'My Pain' is also out of place on this project.
Highlights: Unsainted, Nero Forte, Critical Darling, Orphan, Solway Firth
Serviceable in the context of what it was created to do, but not something I would find myself returning to listen to often. The game is peak though.
Ronnie James Dio was the greatest vocalist Black Sabbath ever had a chance of getting after Ozzy left. A true generational talent.
Best tracks: Neon Knights, Children of the Sea, Heaven and Hell
