The Voidz - Like All Before You
79

this voidz album follows one of my favorite albums of all time, their last release, "Virtue." after 6 years of waiting, this has become one of my most anticipated listens ever. i was expecting fantastic instrumentation. i was expecting experimental synth sounds blended with a modern alt rock sound. and, most importantly, i was expecting one of my favorite lead singers ever, julian casablancas, to deliver some of my vocals of the year, at least.

is that what happened?

Future - MIXTAPE PLUTO
60

future is consistently not bad, but with better beat selection and more focused vocals, he could easily be great. i'm disappointed that this wasn't him in that element, but i still think he has that potential. i

Quadeca - SCRAPYARD (Vinyl Deluxe)

Lil Yachty - Hate Me
98

MIKE - Burning Desire

DC THE DON - GOD LEVEL
63

Benjamin Earl Turner - HEADSPACE
100

been one of my favorite singles since it came out

Logic - Ultra 85
78

as a long time fan of logic, i've been excited for this album for years, since it was first hinted at. the incredible true story was one of the first rap albums i really clung to, and the magic of the worldbuilding logic did on that album left me pretty enchanted for the length of the project. with the long, painful, winding road that logic's discography has been on since that (still great) album all those years ago, he hasn't been in my rotation heavily since then.

A$AP Rocky - HIGHJACK
63

Logic - Teleport
82

taking risks !!

JPEGMAFIA - I LAY DOWN MY LIFE FOR YOU
79

the production on this album is perfect through and through, but he is doing the same exact triplet flow with an eminem-like inflection on every single song. it loses the charm after a long time

87

this is soo much better than the last one thank the lord

Eminem - The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)
7

guilty conscience 2 is disgustingly horrible

that was offensively awful i hope this score goes down

Mustard - Parking Lot
44

negative mid ‼️ he's just off key the whole song

Eminem - Tobey
40

big Sean carry???

Don Toliver - HARDSTONE PSYCHO
50

if ur album is not ambient I don't want to fall asleep to it

twenty one pilots - Clancy
84

this was an incredible change of pace from scaled and icy. the trench sound is missing, but the production is still very crisp and the songwriting is strong. what it is lacking in consistency it makes up for in some of these explosive highs.

On oh's review of Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp a Butterfly
"This album is so bad! I hated this album so much! And I still don't even hate it as much as I did when I heard it on iTunes… it's like the last album I had complete faith in was… Tupac's To Pimp A Butterfly. But, while Kanye's previous album is mostly divisive among both fans and critics, To Pimp a Butterfly features one of the best and most complex narratives of modern hip-hop. Kendrick Lamar's lyrics can be surprisingly philosophical and hypnotic at the same time. In many of his songs he makes dark, brutal and pessimistic observations, asking us to relate to his worldview But it still sucks because he doesn't speak "clever" or anything. Instead, he pulls an old stock trick by shamelessly copying the music of other artists. Most "experimental" rappers tend to copy the style of his or her idol, and make little or no attempt to develop their own sound. Which is why we only consider Kendrick Lamar to be a genius. Why think less of him because he doesn't have the "X" factor? Why label"
