Releasing a song featuring Wednesday on a Wednesday is a power play if I’ve ever seen one
Summer is here and so is this track! Pretty solid track that would probably go hard at the beach
Brilliantly underrated indie rock! Fantastic instrumentals, great vocals and witty lyrics. A perfect mix for a great album!
Favourite tracks: The Reasons, Plea From A Cat Named Virtue, Our Retired Explorer
Least favourite: (Hospital Vespers)
You know a bands good when the songs that didn't make it on to an album are just as good as those that did.
Favourite tracks: Allez Les Blues, Dumb Luck, She Crows

I'm sorry but this really is not my thing. I had to stop after 2 tracks because I started to feel sick. It sound like just noise with nothing to it
This is way more country influenced than I expected. It’s a pretty calming experience listening to this. The soft guitars, soothing vocals and harmonies are all excellent!
Favourite tracks: Warm Ways, Rhiannon, Landslide
Least favourite: Sugar Daddy
Actually prefer this over Surfer Rosa. It sounds more like Doolittle, and it’s weirder and more out there.
Favourite tracks: Caribou, The Holiday Song, Nimrod’s Son
Least favourite: Vamos
Surfer Rosa feels like a very slapdash album, but in a good way. It’s raw, fast, and kinda punky in how DIY it feels.
Favourite tracks: Bone Machine, Gigantic, Where’s My Mind?
Least favourite: Oh My Golly!
Pretty solid indie rock. Arguably the first New Rave album to make it “big”, since more or less all of the singles became pretty big here in the UK and you still them every so often. It feels pretty alive and just a lot of fun!
Favourite tracks: Atlantis To Interzone, Golden Skans, It’s Not Over Yet
Least favourite: Isle Of Her
This is a pretty different sound for Hayley, being primarily accoustic and more laid back. It's more or less her Self Serenades EP turned into a full album.
This is a very solid album to just chill with. Hayley's vocals are great as usuall and the guitar on here is nice! kinda overhated in a way.
Favourite tracks: First Thing To Go, Asytole, Just A Lover
Least favourite: Find Me Here
This is definitely an 80’s album, and a solid one at that. The synths are pretty good, and the vocals are pretty good, especially on drive!
Favourite tracks: Drive, Stranger Eyes, You Might Think
Least favourite: Why Can’t I Have You
It’s House Of The Rising Sun. This is literally the only song most people know the Animals for, and I’m happy about that.
Also My gran knew one the band members gran, so there’s a neat little fact about me
Since this album turned 10 a couple of days ago, and I heard “Fill In The Blank” on the radio yesterday, I thought I should check this and the band out.
It’s alright but I feel like I’m missing something. A lot of it didn’t really click with me. It’s instrumentally good and most of the songs are good. Might be the length of it. This really didn’t need to be over an hour, quite a few tracks feel dragged out in my opinion (especially Cosmic Hero and ... read more
Note: I listened to the version with the bonus track “Black Crown”
Bloc party scrapped all the electronic elements of their past 2 albums and went fully back to the more indie, post-punk style of Silent Alarm. It’s pretty solid actually but easily the weakest of the first four albums.
I do feel like this is the end of the bands high point though. After Matt Tong and Gordon Moakes left, they were never really the same.
Favourite tracks: Octopus, Kettling, V.A.L.I.S.

Not as mad about this one as White Blood Cells, but this is still really damn great! The energetic and raw (thanks to being recorded on an 8-track) sound really makes this hit so hard!
Favourite tracks: Seven Nation Army, The Hardest Button To Button, Girl, You Have No Faith in Medicine
Least favourite: You’ve Got Her In Your Pocket
There are very few albums I would call perfect (most of my 100s have at least one blemish), but this is one. Bloody brilliant from start to finish. That’s all I have to say.
I haven't heard much of The Avalanches (Mostly Frontier Psychiatrist and Frankie Sinatra. I plan to change that soon) but this is pretty different and i'm cool with that. Sampling the Nokia jingle is very funny to me.
Julian's vocals remind me of this

This is honestly one of the greatest power pop albums I’ve heard! Right up there with Weezer’s first 2 albums for brilliant, energetic excitement. Jeff’s vocals are great, there’s a bit of ska punk reminiscent of his past and excellent instrumentals! Just a great album all round
Favourite tracks: We Begged 2 Explode, Festival Song, Perfect Sound Whatever
Least favourite: Planet Luxury
It's fine. Kele's vocal performance feels kinda boring, like he's not putting in much effort, but the instrumental is solid.
