I demand more from these 2 because damn was this good! Absolutely smooth, sensual and a great replica of 70’s soul sound.

The absolute peak of Britpop perfection! Adding that bit of glam to everything really enhanced the tracks and made it stand out from everyone else.
Favourite tracks: Common People, Disco 2000, Underwear
Least favourite: Pencil Skirt
Do I finally get it after a second listen? Not really
Did it grow on me? Kinda actually.
I sort of get it a bit more, but it’s kinda boring in a few places and only really grabs my attention after track 3. I think the second half is better than the first fight me.
Favourite tracks: Jesus, etc. Heavy Metal Drummer, Pot Kettle Black
Least favourite: Radio Cure
Thanks @consyl for recommending!
One of the most authenticity 90’s power pop album of the decade! Everything sounds so clean and well thought out! Really underrated!
Favourite tracks: Sterling Hayden, K-Mart, 1995, The Pen
Least favourite: Alistair Pine
The first Queen album I’ve listened to in entirety and I’m pleasantly surprised! Sounded way different than I thought a Queen album would sound but this is great! Some really solid hard rock stuff, not a genre I associated with them! Probably one of their best!
Favourite tracks: Brighton Rock, Killer Queen, Stone Cold Crazy
Least favourite: She Makes Me
It took a bit to properly sink in but this is really good! It feels more like an experience than an album. Everything is top notch from the start and sounds kinda beautiful! Also, big up to Bowie for doing backing vocals on Province! That was pretty cool!
Favourite tracks: I Was A Lover, Wolf Like Me, Tonight
Least favourite: Let the Devil In
Some absolutely great Britpop but it’s pretty messy and a bit inconsistent. The only song I’d heard before was Girls & Boys, so I expected the whole album to be like that, but the amount of experimentation going on caught me off guard.
Favourite tracks: Girls & Boys, Parklife, To The End
Least favourite: The Debt Collector
I have similar feelings towards this as I do towards Yoshimi. It’s damn good and pretty beautiful! It leans more into rock but it still carries the poppier vibe of Yoshimi. Super underrated!
Favourite tracks: The Yeah Yeah Yeah Song, My Cosmic Autumn Rebellion, Mr. Ambulance Driver
Least favourite: Haven’t Got A Clue
This album has a level of coolness and confidence that remains unmatched by many debut from around the same time.
The influences are pretty obvious but it still sounds great! The fact it’s just drum and an incredibly dirty sounding bass makes it stand out from other hard rock debuts. Aged gracefully!
Favourite tracks: Out of the Black, Figure It Out, Little Monster
Least favourite: Blood Hands
Why weren't these on the album in the first place? These are great! El Pintor wasn't the longest album ever and these could have sloted quite nicely into it.
Gee, these Foxboro Hot Tubs sure do sound a lot like Green Day. Must be a coincidence.
Favourite tracks: Mother Mary, Sally, Pieces Of Truth
Least favourite: Red Tide
They Might Be Giants are still as fun and morbid and ever four albums in! Sounds just great and has some fun concepts. (Fingertips being 21 disjointed snippets is such a cool and unique idea!) Easily one of their best!
Favourite tracks: I Palindrome I, The Statue Got Me High, See The Constellations, Fingertips
Least favourite: Spider
Los Campesinos! are one of the best Indie rock bands of the 2000’s burst and this album is no exception! It’s an album that explodes and sounds beautiful while doing it!
Favourite tracks: Miserabilia, We Are Beautiful, We Are Doomed, Documented Minor Emotional Breakdown # 1
Least favourite: Between an Erupting Earth and an Exploding Sky
It’s like Talking Heads if they had a bit of a grungy sound if anyone else gets that
This new Hayley side project thing (?) could be really good! The 3 tracks here sound pretty nice and like a solid extension of Ego Death last year! Just needs to be fleshed out more personally
Vampire Weekend cut back on some the poshness they kinda had on the first two albums and make a great indie album! It sounds so damn good and gorgeous. Easily one of their best if not one of the best indie albums of the 2010’s!
Favourite tracks: Obvious Bicycle, Step, Diane Young
Least favourite: Young Lion
Yeah baby! This is MJ having a blast and you can hear it! Incredible production all around! Easily one of his best!
Favourite tracks: Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough, Rock With You, Get On The Floor
Least favourite: She’s Out Of My Life
