Amazing psychedelic stuff! Sounds so dreamy and like your floating through space, really adding to the theme of being alone.
Favourite tracks: Endors Toi, Feels Like We Only Go Backwards, Elephant
Least favourite: She Just Won’t Believe Me
New year, new me I guess.
This album has grown significantly since my first listen. I really don’t know why I hated it, because this is just great! It’s really bombastic and sounds fantastic and lively! Just a downright classic.
Favourite tracks: Debaser, Wave Of Mutilation, Monkey Gone To Heaven
Least favourite: Silver
Quintessential midwest emo. And the band isn’t even from the Midwest. Everything is just sounds so lush and pretty and amazing!
Favourite tracks: Pillars, Every Shining Time You Arrive, How It Feels To Be Something On
Least favourite: The Prophet
Note: I listened to the expanded edition since it was the only version on streaming
The foundation of midwest emo is just some great emo. It lays the groundwork pretty clear for others to follow. Without a doubt one of the most important albums of the 90's if not ever!
Favourite tracks: Seven, In Circles, Sometimes
Least favourite: Grendel
God damn! Such a funky and cool album! Absolutely radiating funk. Just a blast from start to mostly finish (The Overload is great but is far from fun)
Favourite tracks: Crosseyed And Painless, The Great Curve, Once In A Lifetime
Least favourite: Listening Wind
The bands first release after reuniting is just a really amazing Christmas song! Might be one of their best.
I thought people were joking saying this was good, but no, Jschlatt has a surprisingly great singing voice for this sort of thing. Shockingly good and blew my expectations away
Favourite tracks: Let it Snow!, Baby It’s Cold Outside, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas
Least favourite: Happy Holiday
Really good christmas tracks! Basically every song hits and sounds great.
Favourite tracks: When Christmas Comes, Kindle a Flame in Her Heart
Least Favourite: The Holly & Ivy
Solid collection of Christmas tracks, although it’s mainly made up of already released stuff
Favourite track: Feast Of Lights
Least favourite: Careless Santa
ELO making a rock opera sounds like a disaster, but it works REALLY well! Sure it’s a bit stupid and cheesy at points but that’s ELO so yeah. A very fun synth-pop album with an interesting story.
Favourite tracks: Twilight, Yours Truly, 2095, Here Is The News
Least favourite: Another Heart Breaks
Suffers from the same issues that Green Day’s Christmas song does. Very odd production and sounding kinda boring
Just a really good Christmas track and an underrated song by the band as well!
Note: I listened to the UK version which has the bonus track “Time To Break Up”
Blink took what worked from Enema and just improved on it. The stronger vocals and hooks really made this sound better and way more catchy!
Favourite tracks: First Date, The Rock Show, Stay Together For The Kids
Least favourite: Happy Holidays, You Bastard
This is by far, Queens of the Stone Age’s best album. Everything works so well and creates something stunning. Literally everything is perfect, there’s no flaws. Just perfect.
Favourite tracks: The Vampyre of Time and Memory, My God Is the Sun, I Appear Missing, …Like Clockwork
Note: I listened to the deluxe edition since it was the only one on streaming
Just a solid 60’s throwback album created as a result of Panic at the Disco loosing half the band. Pretty different from Pretty Odd, taking inspiration from the Beach Boys and early Beatles, instead of the more baroque sound of Pretty Odd. Wish they kept this going.
Favourite tracks: Take A Vacation!, Cape Town, Dangerous Blues
Least favourite: Defiance
Note: I listened to the 2005 version which has 2 extra tracks, “We Just Won’t Be Defeated” and “Hold Yr Terror Close”, and some sample changes to most of the album
My dad described this as a soundtrack to a film that never existed. I don’t think I could put it better except it’s probably the happiest album I’ve heard!
Favourite tracks: Ladyflash, Get It Together, Huddle Formation
Least favourite: Hold Yr Terror Close
Close tie between Daft Punk’s Discovery and this as my favourite dance/house album. This is simply great!
The beats are awesome on the more danceable tracks like Let Forever Be, and the psychedelic stuff is also really great! Just an awesome listen.
Favourite tracks: Let Forever Be, The Sunshine Underground, Hey Boy Hey Girl
Least favourite: Got Glint?
Damn good debut by one of the most underrated pop punk bands! The synths really helped them stand out from the other acts starting up at around the same time, and they compliment everything well. Just a very good start to a career.
Favourite tracks: The Future Freaks Me Out, My Favourite Accident, A-OK
Least favourite: Boombox Generation
