They are so so very drunk. It's absolutely something. Maybe abstract art? It's like if you and your mates got incredibly drunk and started doing kareoke, except that it was realeased on cd instead of being a distant memory. I got a good laugh though so, points to it?
Pretty good new-wave album but it’s carried kinda heavily by a few tracks (those being track 2, 3, and 6). But still, pretty solid and decent album all in all.
Favourite tracks: Picasso Vista El Planeta De Los Simos, Prince Charming, Stand And Deliver
Least favourite: Ant Rap
Just as good as Funeral. Sure you could say it’s a bit bloated, but all the tracks serve a purpose in the little story it tells. The lyrics are very touching and beautiful personally!
I don’t really know what to say except they managed to nail it and I wish that were still this good.
Favourite tracks: The Suburbs, Ready To Start, Sprawl II
Least favourite: City With No Children
This is some really, really good indie! You can tell that they clearly liked the genre, and wanted to make something that they wanted. It’s just good!
Favourite tracks: Death To Los Campesinos!, This Is How You Spell, You! Me! Dancing!
Least favourite: My Year In Lists
Franz Ferdinand do something similar to Bloc Party’s 3rd album, leaning more into electronic stuff. It works pretty well as an expansion of their funky rock sound! The lyrics are still top notch as well.
Favourite tracks: Ulysses, What She Came For, Lucid Dream
Least favourite: Dream Again
Solid cover. It being a combo of 2 things I like (FOB and Muppets Christmas Carol) I was gonna enjoy it either way
Since this is tacked on to Kerplunk on CD and streaming, I thought I’d rate it separately.
Ooh that production, it sucks. If it was better, this could have been alright. But it’s just weird. Like why does this exist and sound like that?
Favourite track: Best Thing In Town
Least favourite: My Generation
Pretty rough but you can definitely see the potential here that was fully realised on Dookie. A solid album, but not an essential one unless you want to hear how the band sounded before signing to a major label.
Favourite tracks: 2000 Light Years Away, No One Knows, Welcome To Paradise (The Dookie version is better but this still a great song)
Least favourite: Dominated Love Slave
PLEASE watch the show this is the soundtrack for! It’s just as great and funny as this and adds context to the tracks (also the visuals for the songs are great and basically act as music vids).
Favourite tracks: Foux du Fafa, Inner City Pressure, Robots
Least favourite: Au Revoir
You know an albums good when the cut songs are just as good as the released ones.
Really wish they released another album in this side project, since this was great! It sounds just like what you’d expect looking at the members, a bit of Queens Of The Stone Age and a bit of Led Zeppelin, all mashed up. Everyone was on their A-game throughout!
Favourite tracks: No One Loves Me & Neither Do I, Dead End Friends, Spinning In Daffodils
Least favourite: Interlude With Ludes
This is such a brilliant album! Despite the lack of Trugoy on most tracks (RIP buddy), It feels so complete and full! All the guests kill it and so do De La and the producers. If this is like what Tribe did (one last album to go out on a high note) then I’m very happy with what we got!
Favourite tracks: The Package, Day In The Sun, Cabin In The Sky
Least favourite: The Silent Life Of A Truth
This is a very interesting album. What with it being the last thing The Dust Brothers produced, and the band directly citing the Iraq War as influencing the songwriting, it works surprisingly well!
They still have the well written lyrics but take a more directly alt-rock sound (closest example I could think of is Beck which makes sense), that sounds very good! Underrated album in their catalog!
Favourite tracks: I’m Impressed, Careful What You Pack, Bee of The Bird of The Moth

How do I even review this? It’s 3 incredibly short demos. This was the sound M A N I A should have gone with. It’s a lot better than it.
300th review! Let’s go
What convinced them to make this? This is just kinda an album of bad radio filler. Everything feels so overdone and dramatic for what is essentially an Imagine Dragons album. At least some tracks were alright and I would listen to again maybe.
Fine tracks: The Last of the Real Ones, Heaven’s Gate
Worst track: Young and Menace
Not my typical style, but this is great! Incredibly catchy and just plain fun! Everything about this so damn good!
Also the 100th CD in my collection that I’ve listened to so that’s neat!
Favourite tracks: Run Away With Me, I Really Like You, Making the Most of the Night
Least favourite: Warm Blood
Some solid indie rock. Don't think it's quite as good as Expert In a Dying Field, but it's still pretty good! A lot more emotionaly vulnerable than that one as well.
Favourite tracks: Metal, Take, Best Laid Plans
Least favourite: No Joy
Pretty solid but you can clearly tell a change has happened in the band, what with 2 band members leaving, causing the lyrics being weaker than their first two albums and a shift to a sound closer to A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out. The instrumentals are good though!
Favourite tracks: The Ballad of Mona Lisa, Hurricane, Nearly Witches.
Least favourite: Ready To Go
Real good set! Perfectly captures the vibe of being in the club, what with the crowd being left in the recording and the thumping bass throughout.
