a few good drops here and there, but overall pretty mid and plagued by the same overused structural variations that have been old for years now. lyrics nothing to write home about.
relying on the impact of fake out and surprise drops doesn't work when you've heard the same in countless similar tracks by this point.

sharp instrumentals, and the theme of the album works surprisingly well.
Great lyrics that explore taboo themes really effectively. Holy, Holy is a clear step above the rest of the tracks.
well, it's pretty good, but ya know, i need to ask my friends what they think first
Emberwake sees further refinement of Au5's main styles, complimented with his own vocals (which I always love to hear). Lyrically, while not perfect, it's a major improvement in writing and storytelling from previous projects. Instrumentally, it's spot on as usual - beautifully complex, with detailed and fantastic sound design which is thoroughly enjoyable. Each track feels like a step up from his last major "main-style" project, Bridges Between. 95/85/90/95/90.
Leagues better than Cipher Three, thank goodness. ACTIVATE is decent, but nothing particularly new. RUTHLESS is generic but a bop, I like it. WHAT I WANT is similar to the previous track but worse. ACID WASH is a banger, good stuff.
It's pretty good but not amazing. Her voice is great and has power behind it, and the instrumentals are varied and solid, although not the main focus. My favourite is XS, and I also quite like Comme Des Garçons, Who's Gonna Save U Now?, Chosen Family, STFU!, and Paradisin'. However, whilst there's some bangers, there's quite a lot that's forgettable for me. Unlike Hold The Girl, which was fantastic thanks to the themes it covered being meaningful, the lyrics ... read more
It's a selection of diverse tracks that still mesh together thanks to consistent theming. The most impressive thing to me is the excellent atmosphere creation, most tracks set a scene with their own vibe, and frequently, grandeur. Golem Gardens and Eternal Feast are my favourites.
Good quality pop music. Doesn't necessarily impress me, but it's solid, and easy listening. The first few and last two songs are better than the middle ones. Good vibes, although the lyrics can be a little plain.
Super interesting. Unsettling, bold themes for an album. I like the instrumentals, they compliment the vocals well. The way she sings is distinctly hers. The lyrics are certainly out there, I respect it, but overall, I think it's cool but it's really not for me.
Fox Stevenson's third album is his best yet. Ageing with his audience, his lyrics still speak to me in a number of tracks, especially Give Me Some Space, That Choice, Exile Is A Habit, What Are You (Wow), and Sunk Cost Fallacy. I love how he delves into mental health and interpersonal struggles. Musically, he stays pure to his roots, with fresh bangers using his signature raw sound in multiple forms of DnB and a little dubstep and house, yet also experimenting a little - the theatrical ... read more
other than the chime remix, pitiful all around, especially considering the calibre of some of these artists
