an album that i enjoy even though i don't think it's that good. overdramatised lyrics and heavy drops that absolutely do not belong, i kinda love it tbh it's just a bit of fun!
watch the crown fall, end of us, the dead march, and thrones of blood are my favourites.
forget about us is great, the other tracks are good but nothing special imo.
this is an enjoyable listen, whilst few tracks stand out to me they mesh really well and it's fantastic in the background. some really interesting sounds here, keeping it varied while still high-energy and interesting. lyrics and delivery are inconsistent, these could be greatly improved, but they were never the album's main focus anyway.
a very consistent album, no bad tracks here. great psytrance, some of their best stuff out of what i've heard although i've only listened to about half their discography at this point. ani mevushal is peak.
most songs are pretty good but nothing standout, desmeon does have a clear style though. feels more like a collection than an album with the last 3 tracks. like an aston martin is the best track on here, a bit of a bop, but i always skip the instrumental as it's rather redundant. this could be us has awful lyrics.
a real mixed bag of decent edm tracks of different genres. the album lacks overall cohesion at times and many tracks already sound dated 4 years later, but equally there's no bad track here and definitely something for everyone. the album finds more of a flow in the middle - hellburst is my favourite and some of the best tracks are in the second half.
pretty decent just not my type of thing tbh, i can see why people like it
Fantastic EP from Au5, I love it when he tries something new - really good downtempo vibes and excellent sound design. Of My Soul is my #1, and Heat and the kinda-bonus track Levity are also favourites, but solid throughout. I love the explosivity of Heat, and Au5 dueting with Psyuri in Of My Soul, which is a wholly beautiful track. 95 for Levity.
my feelings for this album are similar to mine for mono after first hearing that - some clever lyrics, i like her voice, interesting intensity and harshness to the music at times, but some songs just feel a bit safe. i quite enjoyed good girl and nothing can kill us on first listen, and tgif and weirdo have grown on me.
iconic, but only a few tracks still hold up okay. the album is very outdated now, but at the time it was great, with modestep's vocals and pioneering dubstep sound meshing into a fantastic experience. the grander tracks tend to be better.
best tracks: show me a sign, feel good
Self-aware and heartfelt stories of love, desperation, and solace from a flawed character. I really enjoy Paolo Nutini's voice and his folk instrumentals which set both fun and sombre tones effectively. There isn't a bad track here, but my clear favourite is Tricks of the Trade.
pleasant listening, something different to what i've heard before, and meaningful lyrics - seems good, i like it.
some of au5's best mid-2010s work, four really great tracks. instrumentally, a bit more of a collection than an ep that flows, but cristina soto's vocals unite the ep. her delivery is good, providing strength to buildups and life to transitions, but the lyrics themselves could be a bit better written.
"freefall" is a mixture of high-energy electro-house drops and a calmer atmosphere, that gets better as it goes on, it's pretty good.

pioneering at the time, but not as well-rounded as their later works, as some tracks drag on a bit. that being said, it's full of consistent rhythm and great sounds, so it's another album that excels as background music.
favourite tracks: "glass eye", "splinter"
fantastic minimalist neurofunk, the perfect background music for keeping you energised but not distracted during late-night work. every track flows well and keeps you pumped. the samples fit well with the album's theming.
favourite tracks: "snaggletooth", "magical thinking", "titanium"
really great thematic album. a few tracks are a little forgettable but there's some absolute standouts too:
"interluden" is a brilliant piece, easily the best on the album. "human error" follows it up with peak track theming, it's chilling and brutal. the other brostep tracks are solid, well-written, but not as impressive as those two, which is probably the main weakness of the album as they become a little forgettable on subsequent listens. the storytelling ... read more
