Lupe Fiasco is someone whose music I ignored for a long time, I don’t know why. But a couple months ago I listeners to Mural for the first time, and my mind was blown.
Lupe Fiasco is arguably a top 10 lyricist of all time. He is able to write songs with immense depth and still make them enjoyable. While having solid production behind him he really shines.
Mural could be argued as the greatest rap song of all time. The beat is absolutely beautiful and the beat breaks really make some of ... read more
This album is so smooth. In 1991 the Hip-Hop group; A Tribe Call Quest released their sophomore album, The Low End Theory. I assume they are talking about bass, which this album has a lot of bass samples all over it.
The production, handled by legends Q-Tip and Ali Shaheed Muhammad is completely flawless, these beats are perfect on every song. The drums are crisp, the bass lines are incredible and the smooth jazz elements add so much to the atmosphere of the album. This the easily the best ... read more
Geordie Greep is a name I have never heard, but I now I’m extremely excited to hear more about in the future. He was definitely a theatre kid growing up.
The New Sound is an album that stands out from the rest in this decade, it sounds completely different than anything that I’ve heard come out in the past 5 years. It’s a mix of jazz, Latin, and weirdo rock. Also some songs sound like straight up chase music.
The lyrics on this thing are absolutely awesome, there were ... read more
J Cole’s 4 Your Eyez Only is a beautiful album that trades mainstream appeal for storytelling, emotions and social commentary.
Cole plays a character who grows up in a harsh environment, makes poor decisions, and ultimately dies, leaving behind his daughter.
The self titled final track is a 8 minute masterpiece, where Cole is talking directly to the daughter of the deceased man. He explains to her the struggles that her father faced when he was alive.
The production is jazz and soul ... read more
While the first installment of The Man On The Moon series is much better, this album is still great. With creative song concepts and production, Cudi showcases his artistic talent again.
Mojo So Dope is in my opinion Kid Cudi’s best song (with pursuit of happiness, idk which one I prefer tbh). It feels like he’s pouring everything out on this song. His entire outlook on life. He owns himself and everything he’s had to go through. The production is also ethereal. He talks ... read more
Remember that song Wah Gwan Delilah? Yeah this is basically an album full of those quality songs.
One of the most boring and uninteresting albums I’ve ever listened to. I didn’t hear ONE INTERESTING IDEA in this album’s entire runtime, at most there’s some good production and decent singing. The singing is pretty bad, it’s covered in autotune. There is some random good production, but it’s mostly insanely basic. Did they even try? They constantly say things ... read more
Idk why I didn’t post this earlier. But anyway, To Pimp A Butterfly is so good that it’s leftovers are amazing.
The Blueprint came out in the middle of a feud with Nas. While Nas might have beat him with Ether, the battle gave Jay the hunger to create a masterpiece.
The Blueprint is the debut of legendary producer and artist Kanye West. The first beat he ever made for Jay, Heart Of The City, is one of the best beats Jay has ever rapped on. Kanye’s vocals are featured on the chorus of Never Change. Kanye would go on to make the beats for almost half the album. There are other legendary producers ... read more
Jay-Z’s charisma is completely unmatched, like it’s not fair, he just sounds so cool. Jay-Z’s voice is probably the coolest sounding voice of anyone I’ve ever heard. He can literally say anything and it would sound awesome. His laugh sounds cool.
Jay’s flows on this album are immaculate, he flows over these beats perfectly. His flows are like melodies, they are catchy somehow. He also has some really good bars of course.

Frank Ocean is one of the best vocalist of all time. On Channel Orange he uses this to his advantage, while at times the songs seem barebones Frank’s voice carries through.
Pyramids is one of the best synth pop songs of the 2010s. It’s a ten-minute masterpiece of singing, production and songwriting.
Pink Matter has the best vocal performance from Frank and the song itself is just straight up jaw dropping. Andre3000 has an incredibly placed feature that matches the song ... read more

The instrumentals on here are so lush and layered. One second you get hard hitting thick heavy guitar, then you get these strings that are absolutely gorgeous.
either on or off the drugs is a masterpiece, easily one of Peggy’s best and most reflective songs. The sample is a AI generated cover of a future song, and it gives it this weird artificial feeling which matches Peggy’s style very well. It is one of Peggy’s most personal songs he’s ever made.
SIN MIEDO has an ... read more
Vince Staples doesn’t seem to get emotional very often, he usually has this almost stale voice and look on his face, but on this album that changes.
Vince sounds so sad on this album, the emotion his voice alone makes me sad. The lyrics are so good, probably his best written album yet. He dives into themes of self reflection, heartbreak, confusion and isolation. He has this kind of loner feeling to him which I relate to a lot.
The production on this album is really good, it’s dark ... read more

How much longer can he do this? God took his voice to give him a wake up call. This has to end. The Weeknd is like a drugged, dark, modern version of Michael Jackson. And this is his thriller.
The Weeknd was one of the first artists that I really got into. One of my friends told me to listen to House of Balloons and I loved it. So then I listened to the rest of his discography and he became one of my most listened-to artists of all time. And I loved his last album, Dawn FM. But for ... read more
After Hours by The Weeknd is a very cinematic album. Full of infectious melodies and 80s-inspired soundscapes, The Weeknd delivers an album that seems like the soundtrack for like a neon futuristic psychological thriller.
Blinding Lights is the most streamed song of all time. I would not call it overrated whatsoever. It is a perfectly crafted pop song. The track’s pulsating synths and driving bass line makes it reminiscent of a 80’s new wave hit but modernized with The ... read more
The concept of Dawn FM is absolutely genius. The idea of a radio station within purgatory, with Jim Carrey guiding the listener toward “the light,” adds a unique and immersive narrative. Each track represents different emotional stages whether it be regret, nostalgia, acceptance. making the album feel like a journey through the afterlife.
The production is stunning. While it’s heavily inspired by retro 80s synth-pop, it still manages to feel futuristic. The synth work is ... read more
Be is like a dlc to The College Dropout. Commons amazing rapping combined with top notch Kanye, and J Dilla beats goes perfectly together.
Common’s rapping is so passionate and slick. You can hear the emotion in the voice at times, and you can also hear the swagger.
They Say has easily Kanye’s best feature of his whole career. The beat is incredible. The chorus is incredible. Common’s verse is incredible. Incredible song.
Be (intro) has one of the best beats Kanye has ever ... read more
UTOPIA is Travis Scott’s big return after 2018’s ASTROWORLD. First off the soundscape of this album was executed so well, it really sounds like a dark dystopia. The production is amazing, you gave production from Mike Dean, Kanye, Pharrell, Boi-1da, Metro Boomin Trav himself and more.
TIL FURTHER NOTICE is one of Trav’s best songs of all time. The beat from Metro is incredible. James Blake’s vocals are so eerie and dark. And this is probably the best 21 Savage feature ... read more
