Ok this is actually my favorite album of all time and I will fully write a full review for this thing when I have the time.
Words can’t describe the nostalgia I get when I listen to this album. Don’t get me wrong, Volume Alpha is a work of art too, I just am not the biggest fan of the track Death from that album. Also I feel like Thirteen is misplaced on that one and throws off the feel of the album. Here, though, you don’t have to worry about that. Taking points off mainly because of the slurs, which were of course used purely for satire and are the drug induced beliefs of the fictional character in this album, and in no way actually represent the bands beliefs, but they are still slurs and it took me aback the first time I heard Roger saying them.
Beautiful instrumental all the way through with amazing drums, both acoustic and electronic. I also really like the theme of this album being facing your problems and pondering about the universe. However, I do like the vocals at some parts, but they weren’t insanely good, mostly just pretty good. I listened to this album last night at 1am, I was tired but I wanted to listen to this album. I started playing it and the tiredness kept getting more intense until I was drifting in and out of consciousness while this album played in the background. It was the closest feeling I’ve had to being high on drugs, while not being at all. The more you listen the more mediocre it gets. Except for Blowout, that track is awesome.
