This LP is much more solid than the bands debut, and it shows a lot of the promise towards their future. I loved listening to this and I can't wait to hear more in the future :D
This project has some nice Death Cab vibes and is honestly a really solid debut. Track seven reminded me of the Good Luck Charlie intro which made me chuckle. There's a lot of promise here and some quite good tracks, excited to listen to more after this.

This is Laufey's best record by far, it has some of the most engaging lyricism, most unique instrumentation, and relatability out of her three projects. There's some great hits on here, some good deep cuts, and the skips are the least offensive of her three records. There's so much beauty here, it was an amazing time listening to this project again.
The best thing about this record is that I get to stop listening to it and that I authentically ended up with my track ratings averaging out to 67. Nothing else is good. Nothing.
The intro track had a really cool instrumental but the vocals really threw me off. I don't really know what I expected getting into this record, but it definitely wasn't hearing something more in line with 100 gecs. I think there's a part of me that expected her sound to have always been what it is now, and it definitely isn't. It was jarring, but I grew to enjoy parts of it throughout.
This record starts beautifully, but falters a little during the fourth through sixth tracks, all of which sound a little too similar to the first three, causing them to be a drag. The four tracks after that were beautiful though, with "Everything I Know About Love" and "Falling Behind" being some of my favorites on the record. "Hi" was pretty mediocre, though "Dance With You Tonight" was fun. Overall, this was a really beautiful project and the ... read more
There's nothing exceptional about this record, but there are still some pretty decent and enjoyable tracks scattered throughout. I loved "Tinfoil", "Always More Often", and "Never in Anger".
Decent debut LP that does some right, and some wrong. Nothing stellar, but nothing atrocious either.
I'm not a huge fan of anything in the dreamy/bedroom pop genre, and while this record doesn't reinvent that narrative for me, it does have some pretty decent tracks across it. I really enjoyed "Swan", "Not the Only One" & "Vueltas". Most of the rest were pretty solid, except for "Moment" which I couldn't get myself into all that much. Overall, this project surprised me quite decently with it's ability to make a genre I normally ... read more
For the past few years I've been incredibly critical towards this record for a multitude of reasons. I felt some of the tracks were far too chaotic for their own good, I felt that the writing on other tracks was just poor in general, and I felt like there were some glaring issues with the sound as a whole. These issues persist on some tracks for me, mostly "Flicker" and "Natural Light" which are grating to listen to still, but the bulk of this record is beautiful and ... read more
This is a pretty rough debut EP. The vocals are pretty poor, the writing isn't great, and there's not a whole lot of anything decent on this.
1. Dickie Roberts: 7/10
2. 2 Polos: 6/10
3. Teeth Like Halloween: 5/10
4. Tell Me Something: 5/10
5. Suicidal Twin Kills Brother By Mistake: 7/10
Every ounce of this EP is more serious and hard than their previous one. It’s incredibly impressive how much this band innovated on their own sound since then.
1. Dr. Thunder Summits Mt. Lightning: 8/10
2. We’re Donezo!: 9/10
3. ps pls call me: 9/10
4. No One is Gonna Love You: 9/10
5. Tastes Like Your Basement: 9/10
6. The Ring 2 : The Ringer: 9/10
This is one of the most unique projects I’ve ever listened to. I expected to fully hate it, but it was actually quite solid. “Wake Service” was stellar with the following two organizations being worse and worse respectively. It was fun, but definitely not something I’ll add to any playlists.
1. Wake Service: Introductory Narration: N/A
2. Wake Service: What a Friend We Have in Jesus: 8
3. Wake Service: Down By the Riverside: 8
4. Wake Service: As I Lay My Burden Down: ... read more
DanMacy’s review says it best, this doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but it’s still some damn good emo.
Some of these tracks are absolutely abysmal while others are really enjoyable to listen to. One of the most hit or miss projects I've heard from DCFC ever.
