"the wind cannot hear"
Sound mate didn't realise that cheers
Yes, I like this. I get it... but also not really. But I like it quite a lot. It makes me feel something that no other music can....
A track-list which is surprisingly diverse in the number of ways it is dark and atmospheric.
not their best, except for "I Got A Thing, You Got A Thing, Everybody Got A Thing" which is absolutely tremendous.
Really fun, atmospheric and aggressive album. While their previous album had some really solid tracks with a lot of forgettable duds, every track here feels justified and has a unique aspect(s) that makes it stand on their own.
Patton opts for a less experimental sound compared to what he was working on with his other post-Faith-No-More projects, some songs being very catchy such as Rape This Day, which only stops itself from being a pop rock song with its lyrics (obviously).

The Residents still manage to make interesting art without repeating themselves.
What differentiates this album from the sea of their other works in the emphasis on orchestral instrumentation alongside ambience and metal. It is unique to say the least, as well as being captivating while keeping the avant-garde nature this band is known for. Another new thing about this album is that for the first time, I can actually fully understand what they're trying to convey. Not that their other ... read more
Shoutout to @fkknoath for the reccomendation.
Having some of the members from Don Salsa (one of the strangest and most enigmatic bands of all time), I really wasn't sure what to expect seeing as they're musicians who have proved they are capable of doing pretty much any genre. Firstly, the cover art is very... striking? It's incredibly random and low quality, a balding man in front of a toilet with serene purple swirls to the right of the artwork. It made me imagine an album ... read more
Manic vocal performance, excelent musiciality and top-notch production. It's an unrelenting gorefest that sticks to a high standard from start to finish.
It's a very good thrash record but not what people look for in a Mr Bungle project. The main thing that bothers me with this album is that it has, for some reason, led to the band pretty much only performing these songs live. Completely bizarre to me and sort of hurts the legacy of their discography.
This might be it. This might be the weirdest album I'll ever hear. Weirder than Ween, Butthole Surfers, Mr Bungle, The Residents, Captain Beefheart.
Basically, imagine Disco Volante by Mr Bungle but completely disjointed with no grasp on a consistent theme or idea, and it was written by unpopular highschoolers.
Technically speaking, although this album is at an absurd level of musicality, it quite literally has no meaning or intention. It is literally a 1997 shitpost that took 3 years ... read more
I find it so funny that loads of people on this site are super offended by Candi and Spinal Meningitis as if that wasn't the intention of the band. Even if they rate the album low, Ween still wins in the end.
This album is a timeless masterpiece that covers a wide range of genres, each with different emotional tones. One track is a beatiful instrumental tribute to legendary guitarist Eddie Hazel while another track is a shitpost about AIDS. It has everything, which gives it an edge ... read more
The song is fine. I'm more interested in how the music video looks like it was made in Blender by a teenager.
Hysterical and heartfelt shittiness is how I describe this record.
Music is more than something that sounds nice, it's an art form that can make you feel many different things, and low pitched vocals speaking about some guy called Big Jilm with a guitar that sounds like it was recorded with a life monitor is really, really funny. That's what I feel like a lot of people who don't like Pure Guava are missing, its shittiness is what makes it funny and appealing, but it keeps you ... read more
God, Deaner is such a good guitarist.
This album is a lot of fun, sort of drags at the end and a couple songs are a tad too long or repetetive but it's a good time over all.
