At just 26 minutes in length, Feeble Little Horse comes through with a really good set of tracks. While this album is relatively short, the flow and overall concept of the project makes up for it. Lydia’s vocals have a staple bloody valentine type tone and performance style that is complementary to the music. The mix might be quiet at times, but I’m not complaining. “Pocket” bring a catchy refrain and my favorite instrumental on the record with a blistering ending. ... read more
A very interesting fourteen minutes. Basically FNF core but done pretty well. The distortion on the vocals is giving 1800 pain vibes, but with some slight variations. This has some seriously visceral moments that are admirable. A little short, but solid nonetheless

This is one of those albums were I can’t stop smiling. LCD Soundsystem’s third album is a fantastic showstopper with a multitude of dance bangers. “Dance Yrself Clean” is a incredible opener with its chunky synth notes and stellar vocal performance from James Murphy. “Drunk Girls” is more of a rock oriented banger with some cheeky lyrics. I love the quirky riffs and spoken word vocals. “One Touch” has some of my favorite production on the record ... read more
Why was this even conceived. Even for the time it sounds like complete and utter garbage. I mean the my space era is known for bad music but wow. “Things that rhyme with orange” has some decent melodic moments, but it can’t outweigh the godawful gutteral screams. “Interlude” is probably the most listenable song on the record with a simple generic instrumental. At least there is no screaming. “Hxc 2-Step” is… something else. It’s ... read more
Archie comes through with some solidly put together tracks that are colorful and dense. Some of these tracks might work better in the context of an album such as “Achtung” which I like, but it could have used another portion. Still the quality of these tracks are great and it makes me excited for an album!

We are sooooo back. MJ Lenderman returns with a somber but hard hitting country track. Chorus goes off and I like the lyrics. Country has never sounded this fresh and heartfelt in awhile

A pretty solid effort from the duo. Some of the ideas could have been fleshed out but it’s still cute and endearing.

Straightforward, but still a nice showing from the duo. May not be my favorite Garden track but it’s still good!

There is some slightly tolerable ideas, but the majority of this track is just a very bad hyperpop/rock mashup. miiiiiid

A classic album for sure. Gorillaz has always been a band that I’ve put off as a odd novelty act when I was a kid, but as I’ve grown and gained more music knowledge, I’ve come to appreciate their brand of alternative hip hop and art pop. And demon days is no exception as almost every track on here is bright and glistening with personality. “Feel Good Inc.” is probably the biggest anthem on the track list with it’s ICONIC bass ... read more
A great pop punk album with nearly no filler. I didn’t hate a single track other than some mild ones. “Head” is a speedy pop punk rager with aggressive snares and almost shoegazy type guitar leads. “Doubt” dives into feelings of unworthiness and uneasiness with one’s self. The second half of the track explodes into heavy riffs and shouted group vocals, it’s quite cathartic. I also like the low key songs as well. “Soft living” describes the ... read more
There is something hear, I just don’t think it’s fully realized. Vocals are nice tho and production is fine. Unfortunately, Chappell Roan did the same thing and kind of did it better. It just sounds a bit too generic

Pop icon Charli XCX returns with a highly conceptual album focusing on an array of topics. From Body image, to social anxiety, and motherhood, it’s an honest and vulnerable display. While it trails off at the end with some of the weaker cuts like “Apple” and “Mean Girls”, the majority of this album is fire. “365” is some fun 2010’s dance pop with a Hyperpop flair. “I think it about it all the time” has a heartfelt sentiment about ... read more
JVB is back with more punchy beats and wild beastie boy type flows and delivery, this time with much more of an emphasis on rave anthems and East coast hip hop. “The baddest” is a club rager with a kickass dance beat that reminds me of the crunk era. “Pack a punch” brings in Danny Brown on a sinister beat and it works. It might seem gimmicky to some people, but I see it as a celebration of its reference points. Really solid

It’s damn near perfect, everything I could have wanted from this project. Quadeca returns with a fire mixtape that solidifys himself as one of the craziest artist transformations in the modern era. From generic YouTube rapper to groundbreaking genre fusing mastermind. The ambient aesthetics return, but with more bite and personality. “Pretty privilege” is a somber tale about insecurity and unwillingness to take compliments maybe because of trust issues? Either way, it hits ... read more
Pinkerton is an explosive unhinged experience. Unfortunately its potential is swayed by the awful lyrical content. “Across the sea” is potentially the worst offender with Rivers going on about this girl who lives in japan and his undying appreciation and obsession with her. It’s a little cringe tbh. However with the amount of filth on this album there is also a good bit of highlights. The opener “tired of sex” is my favorite here with a killer riff and hook. ITAPOTS is a distorted, passionate mess from front to back. From its shitty mixes, whiny vocals, and beautifully heartbreaking lyrics, it is truly the album that could.
