This is my first time getting into a solo Jpeg album and that guy is amazing, the production is fire from start to finish, the rapping is also nice but kinda repetitive sometimes even though it's not that annoying, can't wait to see that guy's other projects
Good album, some great tracks on it but some tracks just feel repetitive and basic in some says, I just wish the level of quality that we see on songs like Junkyard Freestyle or 7eleven was here from start to finish, and I'm confident we will see a Kenny Mason record like that in the future
It's just super cool, and matter of fact I don't have anything more to write
Really chill album, I listened to it after waking up and I think that's the perfect moment to listen to it, overall I don't have much more to say except Isaiah Rashad flows well on great beats, the only song I'd skip is Cameras, I just think the hook and the production is boring on that song but that's the only weak point on that album
It's solid but I feel like they hesitate a lot between making a song heavy or smooth, which makes the vibe super inconsistent, not saying albums should always keep the same mood from start to finish, but here we litterally have heavy punk riffs, but then follow with calm parts and in some cases it works but here it doesn't blend out well. Also, the "heavy" choruses are mostly kind of corny, and the smooth parts are ok but the whisperings just don't fit well, especially ... read more
Fun is the word.
Indeed his flows are nice, the production super chill and groovy at the same time, the features are also good (who would have tought Action Bronson and Lil Yachty actually have a great chemistry together)
I like the chaotic energy plus the highlights are some of Ye's best tracks of all time, but the bloat really is problematic on this album
It's an amazing album. The energy is ridiculously wild on most of the tracks, plus it's kind of original I mean it's punk/hard rock but it goes even punker and harder than punk/hard rock, one sad point is that at least 1/3 of the tracks don't go punker and harder than punk/hard rock, they're great but kinda basic, plus I like the riffs of course but I feel like the vocals alone make this album unique, the performances of the other members are nice but we see it everyday ... read more
Jokes apart, I rarely seen that level of songwriting, performance, and cohesivity in a band, these guys are inventive, original, catchy, and I guess that's something I've been waiting for years to see in a rock band (I mean in an actual 2020s rock band), can't wait for the next volume !
Such a heavenly album (with some at least rough tracks here and there), with a lot of great themes, solos, and especially vocals
... read more
Honestly, it's overrated: I like the vocal performance I think he has a great voice but the songwriting is repetitive and kind of boring on most of the tracks, overall the album is also a lot carried by the production I think
So yeah, the production is great and Brent Faiyaz has a great voice, I just wish the songwriting was better
A great mix of rock 'n' roll and psychedelism, most of the album sounds like it's been recorded in a small garage and I don't know if it's intentional or not but it makes it even better
Same thing than the Black Album: they wanted to make more accessible metal, at the opposite of long concept songs they were making with MoP and JfA but even though it's a great idea it didn't work as well as the Black Album, and I feel like they had already lost a bit of the energy that made them so good in the 80s, Load is another small step back in terms of quality, it's not bad but it was the first time Metallica really had bloat on a record I think
Did not enjoy it at first, in the end it's a great experimental album but omg his voice is just so bad I have troubles getting into his music, so yeah amazing flows and fire production, only his voice keeps me away from giving it a perfect score
