Redux: Definitely think this is overhated, although I find it a lot less interesting than their other stuff, murder your memory is still one of the best songs of theirs though, but overall mostly okay shoegaze, I definitely overhyped this one

Had to listen to this the day of release, boards of canada are one of my favorite artists in music ever, or at least one of my favorite in electronic music, geogaddi is one of my favorite albums ever made, music has the right to children, and campfire headphase also being phenomenal albums, and tomorrow's harvest is very underrated as well and more people should revisit it, they are one of the most consistent groups in electronic music, so it was a surprise to me and many others when this ... read more
Austin Lunn is back at it again with this amazing project. I've recently revised a few panopticon projects myself, so it came to my surprise that a new album dropped, I was eager to check it out as I was very curious where the direction of the music was going to go after the time of memory which focused on a more theatrical and grandiose atmosphere in my eyes while stripping away from projects like autumn ethereal, Kentucky, and again into the light, and the roads to north (my favorite ... read more
New to this artist, this goes hard, many of the tracks here are very catchy and fun. I dig the aesthetic in this ep.
I wish I could go back in time to before listening to this. (part 2 of the tri-force)
Mindless Self Indulgence is a band I have never heard a full-length album of until now, though that is due to the allegations, very questionable lyrics, and overall just finding the songs I have heard very obnoxious. I decided to give this album a listen for the Tri-Force mini series (see my Fashionably Late review for context). This album also appears to be the fan favorite from what I've gathered, ... read more
Redux review:
An album that feels like a deconstruction of not only the entire swans catalog, up to this point, but also musical convention.
Wow I can't believe I didn't enjoy this as much before compared to now, although that was on me.
Swans have always been a band that fascinated me, I've been quite a fan of their stuff like the seer, great annihilator, to be kind, glowing man, white light, etc. For the longest, I have enjoyed this, but I never really thought this was ... read more
REDUX: wow another redux on another pop punk release, can definitely say a lot of this doesn't age the best, fortunately for this one, thats not the case, ill admit, I overglazed this a little too hard in my preteens, some of the first riffs I ever learned on guitar were off this album (enthused), I would dare say this is their 3rd best album behind self titled, and toypaj. This is some decent stuff, I mean, its great for a pop punk record, but nothing too special outside of that, ... read more
(REDUX) Damn now here's a record from childhood when I was going through a pop punk/emo-pop and 2000s post hardcore phase, I used to like tracks like one more sad song, swing swing, and paper heart, admittedly I still like swing swing, but the rest of this album I can give or take, it hasn't aged the best for me personally, but I didnt have a bad time per say, though nostalgia may be a big factor as to why that is.

Part one of the triforce of poopy hot topic music
I am going to do something slightly different here, for this, and the next two disaster reviews, I am going to make a term for the big three bands of shitty alt music you'd hear at hot topic, those being, falling in reverse, hollywood undead, and mindless self indulgence, for this review, I am covering falling in reverse with their album "fashionably late"
I don't really know where to start here, everyone can unanimously ... read more
I have to come clean about something here guys......I have genuinely never listened to Dimmu Borgir, despite the amount of black metal I have listened to since I discovered the genre, I have not once listened to these guys, not really for any particular reason either. When I read somewhere that this album is one of if not the biggest selling black metal releases with over 100k copies sold, I got curious, the only thing I know about this group is that they're most often compared to cradle ... read more
Well I'll be damned, the man himself returned to kaatayra, for the longest I believed after impariquipê, we would no longer see another album under Kaatayra.
Caio Lemos has always been someone I've been intrigued by from his take of a more tropical atmosphere while fusion Brazilian folk music and atmospheric black metal. Throughout the Kaatayra discography, you will see Caio sort of experiment more and more with that fusion, I've always enjoyed this approach to black metal ... read more
This albums rips hard, I dig the riffs heavily, also the album cover is really pretty
(REDUX REVIEW) one of the most controversial band to come out the black metal scene unfortunately misses ever so slightly
As of late I have been relistening to a ton of black metal I enjoy, or some I have not heard in a while, while I am still listening to more projects I enjoy, I decided to revisit one that I was not so fond of in my original listen. Mayhem is probably one of the most impactful bands to come out of the norweigian black metal scene, I do think people overhype their influence a ... read more
Music that makes puddles have more depth in comparison
(Disasterpiece review #2)
When I first heard of these guys, I have heard different opinions stem from different demographics, on one hand, these guys are very innovate and genre bend pop and metal in a way that has never been heard before, on the other hand, these guys are everything that's wrong with modern rock & metal, judging by my rating, my opinion aligns with the latter.
One thing about this album that I do not enjoy is ... read more
An insane comeback
In the scene of metal, post-metal in my opinion is one of the more underappreciated genres of metal, but more specifically, atmospheric sludge metal. Neurosis has always been one of the strongest bands to come out of the style, with records through silver in blood being an classic, and probably one of my favorite metal records period, as well as other strong releases like time of grace, and enemy of the sun. They have a very great track record, and always managed to put out ... read more
A very bright, and pretty album. The heavy shoegaze inspiration, compliments the indie pop style very well here, I can't think of a song here i outright disliked, this project starts very strong and never slows down. this project leaves me feeling excited to listen to more of the band's discography, as well as what they will release in the future.
⚠️WARNING⚠️ Converge yet again drops another banger, further showcasing their nonstop momentum since jane doe, and further proving they are one of, if not the most consistent bands in metalcore
What people who dislike linkin park, think they sound like
(This is the start of a series once a month in which I review a bad album, no matter the genre, or decade. The first record im doing this on is actually one from my adolescent years.)
Anyone who grew up with rock from the 2000s is well aware of the group papa roach, they are a very successful group to come out of the nu metal wave from the mid to late 90s to early 2000s. Whether you liked the style of nu metal or not, nobody can deny ... read more
Really great black metal that does a good job at having a distinct style, and having many of the tracks flow well without it all sounding the same, some very minor weak moments in the vocals, but otherwise pretty great
