"Music for the end of the world", I've heard it said and it's hard to disagree. The atmosphere in this record is that of a suffocating hopelessness. While GY!BE has a lot of amazing records, the dread and emptiness present in this record make it one of a kind. Closing my eyes I can actually picture a desolated town filled with rubble, empty highways, collapsed bridges and the absolute stillness that accompanies it all. The hopelessness in having to live confined between "the top of the ocean and the bottom of the sky". I love its bleakness and just the overall sorrow permeating the album. It's one of those that I'll always go back to, despite feeling emotionally ... read more
