This is overlooked and way too underrated by too many people. IGOR is the closest thing to a movie I've ever experienced in an album. Frank's "debut album" is certainly one for the books. Frank revealed his homosexuality to the world upon the release of this record which only encapsulates what he is trying to convey. To channel orange is to become free with your inner self. To be you. This will always be 2nd to Blonde, but then again so will every album. I'm a firm believer that "Pyramids" is the greatest thing that my ears have ever heard.
This is still an early review, but my god this is a beautiful piece of art. Abel is at the top of his game, producing, writing, and performing a wholesomely original sound, aesthetic, and story. From the L$D-fueled synths to the experience of heartbreak, After Hours paints a picture of the life and times of where The Weeknd is at in his life. We go through his highs (haha) and his lows. At this time Abel doesn't want OR need anyone else to help chime in on his artistic expression.
If I were to actually sit down and write about this album it'd take me several hours so I'll leave it at this-- Blonde has impacted my life in ways that I can't express. To say that Blonde was worth the "wait" is an understatement. I don't care if Frank doesn't release an album for another five years or even... ever. He has already given enough to the music world.
