Emotion - Carly Rae Jepsen
Woo here goes my first full fletched review...
Carly Rae Jepsen's 2015 pop masterpeice, Emotion is without a doubt one of the most clever and iconic pop albums of the 2010s. Carly goes through all her different points of views of her love life and friendships with some of the best produced, catchiest songs of synthpop as a whole.
The opener track for this album, Run Away With Me, is probably the best opener this album could have asked for. Obviously this album ... read more
In my mind this album is beyond perfect, but it's brought down by Undoer and Domoto. I've been listening to this album for practically 3 years on repeat now and it's just such fun. Doomsday is coming. Also really happy that Getting Killed has shone a light not only on Geese but specifically this album (its ar superior hehe)
Haven't used this website in a hot minute, but "Can I Have You For Myself?" is a song I come back to so much and I had to say it somewhere, emotional masterpiece and currently my frontrunner for song of the year despite the rest of the album just not doing as much for me. Bro what is everyone on, why everyone hating on this. Sure it's not as fun as his previous installments, but this being melodic works so well for his aesthetic. This is my favorite Cudi project in a long time, even if I did enjoy MOTM III. I just feel like this has soul in it, again, not discrediting previous works, I just feel so much heart. It's nothing that has any wow factors, but it feels cohesive and well thought out, this shit really makes me intrigued in the show itself. Also the ... read more
Why he have a new producer tag, I like the old one better, even if it did show up on a track or two. Anyways, this record is very much a vibe, even if it doesn't feel like anything grandiose and might be a bit of a safe release. I don't remember where I heard the comparison but I do think of it as quite true, this record showcases everything I would want DJ Khaled to be. An ACTUAL PRODUCER, that makes fire ass instrumentals, bringing together a bunch of artists, yet it still feels like it's ... read more
