"The creator has a master plan" might just be the best piece of music ever composed.
Can we talk about how Down in flames literally stole the opening riff off of "I" from black sabbath's dehumanizer album? I legit thought it was a cover when first going into it.

While this one is a little worse than the band's previous effort, I actually quite like how they've tried to distinguish this album among the rest of their catalogue. There's a certain roar in the guitars which you mostly hear in grunge music, but the playing itself feels a lot more intense and strange (pun intended) than something like holy diver. If anything, this album gives me the vibes of something that TOOL would make if they were a grunge band. Overall, not too bad.
Despite the new band lineup, and the minimal difference in the music's sound, this one is still pretty good. Not on the level of anything before it (besides sacred heart), but it's still worth a listen.
Although old, it hasn't aged badly at all. Hard to do so, when it's as influential as it is. Good work Maiden.
