What a piece of shit album this is.
I am pretty sure I have heard these lyrics sometime in elementary school, where kids would do rap battles against eachother.
'America's most hated'
lmao
Red Hot Chili Peppers does absolutely nothing to reinvent themselves in The Getaway. Every single bell and whistle has been heard before. There is no new sound, instead Red Hot Chili Peppers proves that they can put out an awfully average album, while comfortably residing in their comfort zone.
Halfway through the album, the vocals become a chore to listen to and by the time I reached 'Sick Love' it felt like I had heard everything Anthony Kiedis had to offer.
The lyrics are barebones in ... read more
Amazing album with an incredibly personal theme supported by Mitski's strong and raw voice. I cannot help but see the resemblemce between Mitski and Sharon Van Etten (Are We There). Mitski asserts herself as one of the strongest voices of 2016.
Favorite song: 'Your Best American Girl'
I do not regularly give hip hop albums high scores.
And to be frank Milo makes zero sense in many of his lyrics, which could put many people off, including me. Somehow he still manages to capture my attention with significant help from his mindblowingly amazing production. His flow is effortless and gives you the impression, that he is not even trying. It makes the album somewhat more interesting to listen to.
I will not even come close to understand everything Milo says in this album and this ... read more
Having listened to this on and off since 2013, I can say for sure, that this album is unique in every single aspect imaginable. The vocals, orchestration, lyrical content etc. It is all so refined and exciting.
What really gives the album its edge is the variety of the songs. There is no common theme throughout the songs, that you can just single out. Gorilla Manor touches upon so many subjects, and they do it in their own unique way.
Favorite song: Airplanes (Definitely on my top 3 favorite ... read more
Low Roar has managed to take inspiration from a number of artists (Radiohead, Sigur Ros) and bring it to an incredibly high level of musical fidelity.
Every single song has its own little instrumental quirks that really resonate with you. The songs are very varied, but still manage to keep the same melancholic atmosphere. Sometimes it is raw and explosive and sometimes soft and comforting. It is this perfect balance, that really pushes the album towards its apex. The album does not rest on its ... read more
I still think this is one of Death Grips' most inconsistent albums. There are some absolutely iconic tracks on here like Giving Bad People Ideas and Eh but aside from that, Bottomless Pit lacks identity.
It is like taking a care free tour inside Andrew Bird's head. The strong, curious personality that Bird possesses is just so delicate and begs to be explored. This is exactly what Bird does in this album. His quirky, self aware lyrics gives the album such a refreshing style that is not often experienced with a guy, that has consistently been putting out stellar albums throughout his career.
There is no censoring of his thoughts, nor is there any precautions taken for those who would not want ... read more
