It's funny looking at the comments for these releases and seeing people being surprised at how many albums he dropped in 2019. Like, these are just archival releases, yeah remastering them probably took some effort but still. Although who knows how much stuff he records in a single year...
Compared to the two previous discs, this is a straight-forward harsh noise release. Sometimes a loop ... read more

The first track is a different mix of Stacy Q, Hi-Fi Sweet Leaf off of the Merzbox! It's a collage with a crapload of samples and it just goes crazy with them. Was good on the Merzbox and it's still good here. The liner notes for that said "Crash for Hi-Fi" raw materials are decomposed and deconstructed so I assume a similar thing here. Or maybe this is the raw material, ... read more
Thanks for the rec @HelixEx!
Imagine listening to a CD so scratched that it turns into a collage. That's how Sissy Spacek's self titled sounds, they played grindcore and turned that into a harsh noise collage, kinda reminds me of Masonna with the blazing fast assaults. There are like 78 small tracks here but most of them are more like a single long track or well multiple of them as things get changed once in a while.

This mix of Cloud Cock OO Grand is more focused on the cut-up nature rather than the "ambient" elements which basically were my issue with the original as they went for too long. Finally something great after the doodoo from Strings & Percussion.

Ecobondage remixed and turned into something better, more interesting and noisier. Another of these releases that sound like a factory, maybe a bit less on the second track where some tribal drumming is included.

Apparently nearly the same thing as the original. It's similar to the other industrial releases on Strings & Percussion except a bit more interesting with it's sound collage parts and better atmosphere.

Great, even more uninteresting screeching industrial from Merz.

It was ass on the Merzbox and it's still ass here. Late 80s industrial Merz doing free improv, string screeches and junk percussion.
Did you know? Listening to the Merzbox, 10x6=60CD BOX, 35CD BOX, those 2 other Slowdown box sets and releases related to the discs contained within the first two (I didn't do the research for the rest, sorry) will make you go through 212 Merzbow releases! (counting repeats and I probably also forgot something)
And these aren't even all Merzbow box sets... imagine the count with that!
Anyway Slave New Desart fucks hard, this certainly isn't a plea for help.
(80→90)
More of a Merzbow with Boris record as, although it doesn't bother me that much, I agree with others that Boris should've been louder here. Boris plays dreamy doom post-metal here, really beautiful stuff most of the time, sometimes heavier bangers. Merz drowns them out with some great noise.
2020 RIP, can't believe it's almost 2025.

Same thing as the previous volume except shorter, more industrial and not as good. It's related to Storage in some way.

The idea of "Environmental Percussion" refers to acoustics obtained by tapping on the floor or walls of a room, or by picking up the sounds of various objects and small objects around us with contact microphones, amplifying them, and adding spatial effects such as reverb and delay. Merz used it on Material Action for 2 Microphones to achieve noise but here (and other releases from ... read more
AI NO WAKUSEI REDUX / RIP ATSUSHI SAKURAI
Junichi Tanaka, who signed BUCK-TICK to Victor Entertainment, wanted Sakurai to collaborate with other musicians. Ai no Wakusei is the result of that. Atsushi found many aspects extremely stressful but damn he delivered anyway.
It's an alt rock affair, maybe a lilttle bit industrial, but there's a lot of variety here thanks to all the different collaborators ranging from Wayne Hussey, Robin Guthrie and Clan of Xymox to J. G Thirwell, Raymond ... read more
Best cover that has his face on it 🙏
Nice to have these on streaming because I didn't really bother to check these releases. Some really good tracks here and some not as great but still cool ones.

The soundtrack for Ishiro Honda's film The Mysterians is sampled and scratched, effectively getting Batztoutai'd into something unrecognizable. Samples of guitar and bass from a studio session with Kiyoshi Mizutani are thrown in too.
While it's not up there with Batztoutai and Antimonument, it's a great sound collage release from Merz, one which more people should hear!
10x6=60CD BOX / 60-43=17th DISC / https://www.albumoftheyear.org/user/chtc/album/701857-10x660cd-box/
Mostly alternate takes of tracks from Antimonument. They're weaker than what we got, this is more of a compilation of material than a full fledged album so I'm not gonna compare it to the proper album in that department.
If you're a fan of Antimonument these are certainly interesting.
Another banging industrial soundtrack by Chu Ishikawa and this time also his band Der Eisenrost for yet another Shinya Tsukamoto film.
RIP
A minute and a half long release, yeah I certainly can't see a better descriptor than trap noise this is just beautiful.
5 minute long harsh noise album with such classics as TRAP ANAL, TRUE ANAL and FINAL SEX.
The tags on bandcamp are hip-hop/rap, phonk & trapnoise btw. This means that this is the greatest phonk music ever 🔥🔥🔥 Yumesaki you god damn genius

Shoutout to Spotify (Rare W) for showing me these guys back in 2022 because they fucking rock. Noise screamo from mad city.
