Midori's last live show is AMAZING. The setlist is mostly stuff from Shinsekai and Second, although some songs from all the other releases also appear. The last few tracks are when stuff really gets crazy.
I wish Midori members all the best.
Fun fact: According to Hajime he played for fucking *SIGH*, he's also apparently playing at lives for Glay, a pretty popular band in Japan, good for him. He also has a last.fm (hajimetal_key), go write him some kind words!
In an unexpected turn of events I was recommended something after I finished all my recs, oh the horror! Thanks @healio for sending your album!
This was great, the vocals and production were beautiful. More people need to hear this for sure.
After (re)listening to a lot of Merzbow it's time for me to return to the one I rated the highest before all that (well, it was the remaster but I haven't rated the original yet).
Tauromachine maybe doesn't have the harsh attacks of Pulse Demon or the metal brutality of Venereology, but it has "rhythm" and BASS. Shit like Minotauros makes me want more bangers from Masami.
I think my opinion didn't really change that much on this one, still my favorite Relapse ... read more
The last of my recommendations, from the artist himself this time, @therealmrsly! I have left out some recs, really sorry for that, I didn't find them interesting/worthwhile, maybe you can convince me to listen to them. Well I guess there's still Double Heads that I need to go through but I just started Merzbient.
I guess this is the first proper folk record I'm hearing in full! Beautiful album from start to finish about the birth of Luke's daughter, really want to say ... read more
I should put out a review for Merzbient in a few days as I'm currently going through that.
Yes, I'll be honest, I only checked this album out because of the cover (the photo goes kinda hard tbh when looking at it now), it showed up on the you may also like section on the Merzbox.
Great noise release, sounds like a machine.
This might as well be the result of trying to calculate infinity because the things being done here with the instruments are wild. After this ends you won't be even able to do 2+2 from either the headbanging or the pumelling this is gonna give you, or maybe both.
Speed being one of the better YouTubers that also do music is crazy and fucking hillarious, like, he actually has some decent songs.
This EP goes hard, especially the closer Seven, it's some insane stuff.
Imagine if he wasn't speaking random bullshit on his songs!

If any of you sent me a rec, don't worry, I'll get to it eventually!
Thanks to @tr6pic for sending this one!
Clin D'oeil is a pretty nice and smooth jazz rap album. There are moments where the featured artists talk about jazz, hip hop, stories from their life, things like that. I thought they were nice.
Thanks to @HelixEx for the rec! The last time I properly listened to this was a long time ago.
Cortex Rampage is a wild mix of genres just like it's successor The Shape of a Burning Credit Card except with 300% more fun.
Great liveshow consisting mostly of Sexy Stream Liner material and some songs from Darker than Darkness, Six/Nine and Cosmos.
KILL THE PAST / KILL THE LIFE
TLDR: PLAY THE SILVER CASE, FLOWER SUN & RAIN AND THE 25TH WARD NOW (I don't care that these games aren't for everyone, just get on my level 😎)
Grasshopper having Masafumi Takada under their belt and later Akira Yamaoka too (he still works at Grasshoper afaik) is something amazing.
I played both The Silver Case and The 25th Ward three months ago and not only did I enjoy Suda51s insane visual novels, I enjoyed their soundtracks.

Amazing industrial release and amazing soundtrack(s) for one of the best movies I have seen (and it's sequels).
RIP Chu Ishikawa
The guy who brought you "Around the Merzbox in Twelve Days" brings you "Metalvelodrome in One Sitting".
Metalvelodrome contains some of Merzbow's best material and it's 4 hours (!!!) long. Lots of variety on here, whether it's the samples, textures, abrasiveness, rhythm or lack there of. The tracks being taken from a span of 3 years are probably what makes this so diverse as Masami is no stranger to switching things up. It's one intense adventure.
Someone at Sony really went "We need more weird shit and noise on Christmas albums" and cooked this up.
This is one crazy lineup, like: Melt-Banana, Secret Chiefs 3, Merzbow?? (His Silent Night rendition is kinda fire tbh) to name a few.
It's a cool little EP, I can hear the potential.
Good luck on your music making journey 🫡
Ninja Gaiden (Black, to be specific) for the OG Xbox is one of my favorite games, even with all it's issues. Continuing the trend of my specials touching on things from the past, I chose this soundtrack as NGB is one of my childhood games (even though I sucked and didn't get far back then).
It's a mix of these more oriental, orchestral tracks and more electronic ones, sometimes these both sides join forces. The former build the atmosphere for the game perfectly and the latter ... read more
DUM SPIRO SPERO's younger cousin.
DIR EN GREY remake a bunch of their old tracks in their new sound (+ 1 brand new track) and GOD DAMN, they go crazy.
It's a shame the amazing MACABRE remake is only on the bonus disc as it's one of the best tracks on here. I've never really been a fan of THE FINAL so I wouldn't complain if these two switched places.
Hibernal Death sees Prolaps go into a more metal, industrial direction with the series. Maybe not the biggest brain-melt of them all but the best one for sure. Bangs hard as shit, a great end.
Quite an improvement from the first part. There aren't as many long tracks, which means more bangers!
Bonnie Baxter and Matt Stephenson melt your mind for 2 hours (part 1). This is hardcore breaks taken to it's 65,000 year long rave extreme.
Some tracks just go for too long sadly.
