genius level composition. an incredible commentary on the pressure of creation and the effects it has on your mental health. i liked this album on first listen and i think its message and orchestration will grow closer to me with each listen.

this is easily my favorite gorillaz album. it may not be as conceptual as their works but i think it demonstrates what gorillaz does best better than any of their other projects.

- the opener is such an amazing tone setter
- valley of pagans is so fun and features beck at his finest.
- the lost chord is hypnotic and lushly produced. very plastic beachy.

this album has incredible narrative and impressive ideas. a very consistent track list too.

this album is so horrendously mixed tho

jaw dropping production from front to back, the best closer of any album i’ve ever heard, some of the most amazing writing i’ve ever heard on an album and quad somehow makes it look effortless.

there are a couple of pitfalls which is expected to come from an album this ambitious. waging war not being the opening track is criminal. and be honest, no questions asked did NOT need to be 6 minutes.
