We live in a world where Tom MacDonald and Ben Shapiro release a song before Frank Ocean
Me: Can I have Daft Punk
Mom: We have Daft Punk at home
Since Justice have just come out with 2 singles, one of them with Tame Impala, I thought it would only make sense for me to check out their highly praised album: Cross. I haven't heard the singles yet since I wanted to be surprised and see what they had to offer. And oh man. They offered a lot. Cross is a straight-up fun, exciting, and creative ass album that is amazing from top to bottom. Obviously, what makes this album fantastic is ... read more
This album is severely underrated. I literally only have 1 friend review for this album π
I know it's weird for me not to review this album during my recommended jazz albums series, but I was recommended Idle Moments last minute, so yeah π
With that said, this album is amazing. Unlike Visions, Idle Moments has a lot more catchy melodies, the guitar work really shines, and it's a very fun album, maybe even a little more fun than Visions. While most of the tracks are quite long, they don't ... read more
Thank you, GhostMinus, for sharing your album with me :)
Really Brief Review:
Cool shit
I have to say. The production on Painless Senseless is pretty great. It's nothing but a jam fest from top to bottom. I really love how dirty and rough the production is. It adds a nice esthetic to the album. I love hacker. and it's overblown ass production. keep out. has some really nice drums and effects on top of it. dumb luck. is also another great track that I really loved the production for. It does ... read more

Hold up. Let that bitch brew
Well, I've finally reviewed every jazz album recommended to me, so what better way to end this than reviewing what is possibly the best jazz album of all time: Bitches Brew. I know it's debatable on what is actually the best jazz album of all time, but I think you're genuinely insane if you don't think Bitches Brew is up there as one of the best. Miles takes takes his music to another level and creates some of the best jazz fusion I've ... read more
AJR but good????????
While not as good as plastic death, the first glass beach album still ends up being super fun and comes through with some amazing and interesting instrumentation and production. Although with this album, it comes off a little more cartoony and childish, but that isn't a bad thing. It's way better than how most other bands and artists do it. classic j dies does an amazing job at showing off the bands childish side in an engaging and fun way. First off, the vocals are great. ... read more
Plastic Beach but better????????
I can't lie. This year was starting off dull and boring. But then this album came in and completely destroyed my insides. In other words, it's an AOTY contender so far. I've never heard glass beach before, but this album feels so fresh while still having those classic elements you hear in other math and emo rock albums. The instrumentation is nothing short of amazing. There are moments where it's beautiful, there are moments where it fucking ... read more

Brief Review:
Charles really did have a stroke while naming the album
Not as strange as Let My Children Hear Music, but hey, not every jazz album has to be, or every album in general. Even still, the instrumentation on Mingus Ah Um is absolutely fantastic. It's just non-stop beauty and fun. Boogie Stop Shuffle is one of those tracks that represents how fun this album is. As the name suggests, it's one hell of a boogie track. The rhythm is so catchy, with some ... read more

Charles' children must of creamed when they heard this... yeah, this is my worst joke by far
Just pure magic. That's what I would describe it as. Let My Children Hear Music is one hell of a magical experience. Everything about this album is strange yet beautiful and almost fantasy like. There's not one track that sounds similar to the track before or after it. Every track gives me a different experience, all of which are amazing. The Shoes of the Fisherman's Wife ... read more

I don't know what happened
I thought I heard everything that could be done with jazz. Shibuboshi, however, proved me otherwise. This album is just pure insanity. I'm sure there are other jazz albums that are way more insane than this. But I honestly doubt that. This album sounds to me like they heard The National Anthem by Radiohead and just based a whole album off of that, and if you've heard that song, I think you'll understand. Basically, it's amazing. The ... read more

Just some good old sample heavy hip-hop
While Penalty of Leadership isn't anything crazy, it's still a great listen and just a vibe from top to bottom. What makes this album really great is the production. The production is so smooth and soulful. I would've loved more variety on the production, but it's still pretty great. No Pun Intended and Jack Frost are a few tracks that have some amazing and beautiful production, and the samples themselves are fantastic. Boldy himself is ... read more
Why is Bruiser obsessed with bisexuals?
Out of the 3 albums I listened to today, My Stories Got Stories was definitely the best album. I was pretty excited to check this album out after I heard Bruiser on Quaranta. At first, I wasn't crazy about Bruiser's flow and voice, but this album actually made me dig it. It's silly but surprisingly fits the production. As for the production, it's simple but pretty great. It's nothing crazy, but it doesn't have to be. All it needs is a sample and a drum ... read more
21, can you do something for me? Can you change up your style and not do the same thing?
It's okay. I am a little disappointed, though. I was hoping 21 got more personal with this album since american dream is basically the soundtrack to his movie. He does get personal, but only on a few tracks. The rest is him talking about pussy, bitches, and violence. It's not terrible, but it does get boring because he's done this already. Still, there are some tracks that I like. all of me ... read more
INSANO? More like MIDO
This was hard to get through. I mean that genuinely. By the end of it all, I was so bored and done with this album. Look, I like Cudi. He has so many great songs that I love. But this... is not the Cudi I love. And I don't like INSANO because it's different. I don't like it because it's just a watered-down version of Cudi. Everything about this INSANO is basic and just plain boring, and it basically sounds like he's copying from the artists he inspired. It also doesn't ... read more
SEXCELSIOR
EXCELSIOR is surprisingly more digestible than Slauson's previous album, A Quiet Farwell. But don't think EXCELSIOR isn't as interesting or strange as A Quiet Farwell because it definitely is. Although, unlike A Quiet Farwell, EXCELSIOR is much more acoustic, melancholic, and ambient. While a little different, Slauson did this sound amazingly. The whole is just a 42-minute dreamy and beautiful experience. The Weather starts the album off weirdly but also beautifully. The production ... read more
This is what I'll probably hear if I was high and depressed listening to some classic hip-hop albums
A Quiet Farwell is one of those albums that genuinely doesn't make any sense. Everything thing feels so out of place. There are moments where you can hear a normal song, but it doesn't come through. Instead, it feels like a memory from long ago, which makes this album feel uncanny and uncomfortable. There are even moments that are straight-up random. Yet, it works. All of these elements come ... read more

Damn. This was a great listen. While I haven't heard much from the Drain Gang, I think this album was a great starting point. E is a super fun album that has amazing production and some pretty good singing and personality from Ecco2K. AAA Powerline starts off the album beautifully. The production is catchy and goes hard while still being pretty. Ecco2K vocals are ... read more
This album made me realize how much I love Conductor and his producer tag
Damn, what a great first listen to start 2024. I didn't really have a reason to listen to KISS THE RING, but I decided to anyway because why not. I'm glad I did because this album fucking slaps. From top to bottom, the production, lyrics, and flows are top-tier and awesome. The classic Griselda piano production is amazing on this album. While I know there are other producers on this album, Conductor really showed his ... read more

Not sure what Pharoah promised, but I think he fulfilled those promises
Where do I begin with this album? Promises is a journey. A journey I can't explain, a journey that is spiritual, a journey that is heartbreaking, and a journey that takes you to somewhere you can't explain. On my first listen, I didn't know what to make of it. I loved it, but I didn't know how to put it into words. Hell, I still don't know how to put my feelings about this album into words. ... read more

Albums like these make me wonder if God is real
It's called spiritual jazz for a reason. Pharoah Sanders created what I can only describe as God's work. Karma is an amazing spiritual journey that genuinely took me to another world. The instrumentation throughout this entire album is heavenly, emotional, uplifting, and gorgeous. It's an album that feels bigger than life.
