The Beatles - Let It Be
82

Phil spectors production had such an interesting affect on this album. It straight up ruined songs like The Long and Winding Road (I only listen to the Let It Be Naked version) yet is also what makes songs like I Me Mine and Across the Universe so good. This albums got it's fair share of flaws but it's also got it's fair share of great tracks. It doesn't feel half as polished as other beatles albums, but it's still quality.

The Beatles - Yellow Submarine

It's fine. The instrumentals are fine. The new songs are fine. The only new standout track on this album for me is hey bulldog.

The Beatles - Magical Mystery Tour
NR

The Beatles most underrated album, if you can say that for any Beatles album, in my opinion. It has some of their best songs ever, and while the first half isn't as enjoyable as the second, it has quality throughout.

The Beatles - Rubber Soul
NR

A big step forward in terms of the Beatles career and definitely one of their better albums. While i doesn't achieve the consistency of other Beatles albums IMO, the songs that are great on this album are perfect.

Jessie Ware - That! Feels Good!
83

This has never been my type of music, but it's so well produced and performed that you can't deny the quality.

Injury Reserve - By the Time I Get to Phoenix
100

So good it makes me uncomfortable when I lsiten to it.

Butch Bastard - Las Vegas Salvation
64

I saw this guy opening for Father John Misty, and he had an incredible set. Really blew me away for an opener. This definitely doesn't capture the magic that he had live however. The chord progressions can border on generic sometimes and I don't love a lot of the production, but this is a pretty enjoyable listen with some great lyrics. I'd recommend seeing him live if you ever can because I feel like his music is better that way.

The Beatles - Please Please Me

I wasn't expecting to dislike this half as much as I did. The Beatles have always been one of my favorite artists and they have 4 near perfect albums. For this reason I thought I should go look at their older albums and this was an unpleasant surprise. I know it's to be expected that they wouldn't be making their best stuff immediately, but this a large step down from their other work. Besides for a few standout tracks is mostly basic blues that was probably enjoyable in the moment, but I feel ... read more

AJR - The Click
3

The definition of over dramatic. AJR all seem like really nice guys but this is not it.

boygenius - the record
84

This things isn't the best album of the 2020s, but it's a very enjoyable singer songwriter record with 3 incredible singer songwriters.

Metro Boomin - HEROES & VILLAINS
78

An extremely fun and vibey project. Has a lot of hype tracks, but also works good as an album to zone out to. Nothing revolutionary, but extremely enjoyable, and cements Metro Boomin as one of the best producers in trap.

Danny Brown - XXX (Deluxe Version)
91

Weirdly, this project feels very fun. This album can get very dark at times, but still manages to be fun through Danny Brown comedic writing and animated delivery. It doesn't feel as well constructed as Atrocity Exhibition, but it's a much easier listen and I probably revisit more. Only real negative is the bonus tracks, which just feel slapped on.

JPEGMAFIA & Danny Brown - SCARING THE HOES
93

An album that just keeps getting better with every listen. It's very abrasive in it's production, and definitely not for everyone, but I think Danny and Peggy are really doing something really interesting here that you're not going to get anywhere else.

Lil Yachty - Let's Start Here.
82

Didn't expect this, but Lil Yachty successfully brought the wock to the dark side of the moon.

Kanye West - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
78

The guy sucks but... this is undeniably one of the best albums of the 2010s

Daft Punk - Random Access Memories
92

Not perfect, but it has Touch, which is one of the best songs ever imo.

Denzel Curry & Kenny Beats - UNLOCKED
84

In a year that felt pretty dry for music, this was a really fun standout. Kenny brings some pretty basic beats for the most part (which makes sense given his motto), but Denzel absolutely murders it and makes this minimalistic beats feel so full and energetic. Really cements Denzel as one of the best rappers out there for me with him being able to do serious concept albums, and short fun trips like this.

The Tallest Man on Earth - Shallow Grave
93

There's not much for me to say about this. Some of the best song writing, some of the best lyricism, and some of the best guitar instrumentation ever. A real masterclass in how to make a folk album. 10/10, For me it's flawless.

Little Simz - Sometimes I Might Be Introvert
90

One of the most Grand Hip-Hop albums in recent history. Clever and heart felt lyrics mixed with Inflo's production makes this one the highest quality records I've ever hear. The only thing that keeps this from a 100 for me is the skits, which add to the vibe of the album, but are often an inconvenience as they leave you just waiting to get to the next song most of the time. That being said, this is near perfect.

Quadeca - I Didn't Mean to Haunt You
96

My Album of 2022. Has some of my favorite song writing and production ever, and not to mention how unique and cool the concept is. I will say that the first half at times can lack the impact that the second half does, but it works out fines as the first half sets up the album really well. Quadeca had shown some great song writing in the past, but this really blew me away.
