Chappell Roan - Good Luck, Babe!

This is one of the best pop hits of all time and I will hear nothing to the contrary

Eminem - The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)
30

You know, Marshall, if you're gonna make your album concept "Slim Shady is gonna get me cancelled by saying OFFENSIVE (gasp!) things," it helps if the content is actually more offensive than your past material. Kim eats this album's fucking lunch. Eminem isn't worth getting angry at. His goal has always been to piss people off, and it seems pointless to feed into that. This album sounds like shit and has the same subpar bars that he's been dropping since Encore. ... read more

"Up at night like Jake from State Farm" is the bar of the century

JPEGMAFIA - don't rely on other men

what if instead of jpegmafia he was freakpegmafia and he relied on other men

Knocked Loose - You Won't Go Before You're Supposed To

This album is like being beaten to death with a bat but in a good way

Kendrick Lamar - meet the grahams
98

Imagine having a son, hiding him from the world and neglecting him. Pusha T exposes you, so you have to (at least publicly) step up more as a father. It's humiliating and shows that you're a dead beat dad and an asshole. However, your fan base forgives you and moves forward.

Then you fucking do it AGAIN.

Blemishes - Ambivert

This shows a lot of promise. The more aggressive noisy tracks such as "Drive A Car" or "Butterfly Neck" are awesome ragers that scratch an itch for raw rage. The screamed vocals are shrill in the best way possible; I love how filthy the instrumentals sound. "Flood Diver" is also a really big highlight for me, and is a song that I was very quick to add to my playlist. However, I will say the ambient tracks break the momentum of the record for me. I don't mind ... read more

Kim Gordon - The Collective

Kim liked Bye Bye so much that she decided to make the same song 11 times. I love to see a committed woman!

The Sawtooth Grin - Jabberwocky

Every release from this band sounds like the members got really high and decided to make a mathcore album, and I 100% fuck with that.

Ryan Benis - at ease!

also better than dark side of the moon

MASSLANDS - Bitter Kind of Sweetness

IDLES - TANGK

Tangk more like tanmid

meth. - SHAME

This is definitely my favorite release I've heard in 2024 so far. This album is raw, dissonant, and punishing in the best ways possible. While it's not quite as loud or crushing as their debut, they nail they still nail their signature hellish atmosphere. I've been super excited for this album since it was announced, and it completely lived up to the hype. Give this a listen if you're looking for something that's loud as fuck and filled with weeping rage.

Christian Death - Pornographic Messiah

This would've been a perfect comedy album if it was half the runtime.

Luc St-Pierre - Thief

Kevin Abstract - Blanket

This is the album equivalent to edging for 40 minutes and never finishing.

Each of these songs sound pretty. They're lush, nostalgic, and cozy, but they all seem like they're building up to something. They sound like the intro section of a song that's gonna explode in the second half or the bridge, but they never do. It just makes the whole listening experience feel kind of dull. Again, still a pleasant listen, but nothing that's really going to leave an impact.

On evil's review of Yuno Miles - ALBUM
"I'm not saying you have to like the album, but I'm astonished at how cripplingly melodramatic this review is. Since the advent of the billboard charts, there have been bland and shitty artists becoming popular. The Morgan Wallaces of the world are not new. Despite that, there has still been plenty of innovative and interesting music coming out (that was still able to make an impact despite usually residing outside of mainstream). While AI wasn't around until very recently, I'd frankly rather have somebody make a shitpost album themselves instead of using AI to generate slop. Again, you don't have to enjoy the record or even find it funny, but this is an excessive amount of rage to put into a shitpost of an album."

"Have you listened to Botch before? Their style isn't the exact same as Converge, but they're similarly on the mathcore side of metalcore, and they go incredibly hard (and they don't have melodic hooks like a lot of crappy mainstream metalcore). Can't guarantee that you'll like it, but I thought it was worth a mention. Metalcore gets a bad wrap but there are some really talented bands under that umbrella"

"I don't think it's a 10/100 bad but this album is painfully bland. I haven't enjoyed a record of theirs since Holy Hell, and that's a bummer. They used to sound so fresh and unique compared to their contemporaries, but now they just blend in with other metalcore acts"

"@Prismoz That's very fair. I'm not generally into his style of vocals but I'm also more of a metal/hardcore fan than a grunge person, so I'm not the best at identifying formulaic music in the genre. I'm glad that you appreciate his vocals though"
