My most listened to album of all time
It definitely wasn't perfect on the first listen, quite the contrary, it was an album I had to sit with for awhile to really understand it's appeal
To put it simply it draws me into a different world like no other world. I'm amazed on how well it does this seemingly without trying. Each song flows so well into the next it feels like sacrilege to listen to it out of order or start it not at the beginning.
The lyrics are potent and real, ... read more
While there were definitely some songs that really piqued my interest I don't feel like I'll be coming back to this album
The Tyler victory lap part 2. An album only an artist with a lot of clout and shit to talk could make. A dancey 808 synth heavy album that makes you want to move but doesn't inspire much further dive than that. At least for me. While it definitely has the quality and polish of a Tyler album it feels a little lackluster in its idea and overall delivery. ... read more
This is what I was hoping when someone recommended me to listen to "noise music"
Parannoul is my second most listened to artist ever. I've rated every one of his albums and even done a tier list on Twitter. This album for me just solidifies him as one of the greats.
I mean seriously this guy can pump out incredible music like it's nothing. Consistently great albums under the alias Parannoul, and he drops often. Every album has been quality, including this.
I can't ... read more
For the second time, ants from down there, heavenfire, lockinarea, black midi new maruja
The thing about this group thus far is how much they pull from their influences. Hell it feels like I am listening to a mastered demo list of 3 artists compiled into one album. But holy shit is it really good. Many times while listening at work I have to just stop what I'm doing and listen to what TF I'm hearing. Shit I played a couple songs 3 times before finishing the album. Some songs are a ... read more
Coldplay, Radiohead, and blur
This album is the first I've heard of Dove. Coming from around the time of all of the listed bands you can hear the influence clearly in every single song. While not wholly original, it takes from the influences very well. All my favorite parts of the bands in one album. Sign me up. While not really having any super standout tracks, there really aren't any duds either. Every track is consistently great and well written. I think they did an impeccable job ... read more
A band I was previously concerned about came out swinging
As of late I've been worried that maruja would just be another formulaic band. Plug in a different bpm and key and you have a new song that sounds eerily similar to songs previous. However they really came out with something interesting here. It didn't really feel like improv, rather a grandiose and well thought out piece of post rock that is akin to a jazz heavy GY!BE. They really outdid themselves here, with the heavy ... read more
This is my favorite sadness album. I can't believe how incredible the whole thing sounds. It's the perfect amount of noise and instrumental balance. Vocals are incredible and fit perfectly as well
Another solid track from east American j-rock group noxunus. I think with some tighter songwriting and finding their identity a little more they could utilize their talents and make their songs that much better. For now it feels a little scatterbrained with a lot of ideas flowing into the music. While not a bad thing it makes for a slightly choppy listening experience. Overall the production is lush and full, all the instruments sound great. It's entertaining and energetic and sounds very ... read more
I wrote another essay for my class lol. Final essay, its definitely not as good as the first one but I still want to put it here.

F♯ A♯ ∞, Its potency, And its Lack of Lyrics
Imagine being able to tell a story without saying a single word, and being able to create a world charged with intense emotions and visceral visuals. Only a few people can do that, it's arguably an impossible task for traditional means. However, only some can tell ... read more
This really had potential to be aoty. However with a tracklist with 4 duds in a row really just pulled me out of the album.
This album sounds incredibly gorgeous at times, filling you with bliss. It also has its antithesis, paranoia. This album will flip between the two between tracks and sections of the tracks that can really bring you into the world of chromakopia. Even the lyrics talk about his struggle with maturity and pregnancy scares. The scare changes his perspective on life and ... read more
Some of my favorite stuff related to geese. Cameron's songwriting is incredible
For my music history class we were assigned to write an essay on something music, well I picked this album. Below is the essay. apologies if it sucks lol.

The Texas-Jerusalem Crossroads
Just as was told, down came the angels falling from cloud 9 with crippled wings, waiting to hit the ground so soft. These are the days when we shall touch down with the prophets to guard and to guide you into the storm. The Texas-Jerusalem Crossroads, a Christian rock opera released in 2001 under the ... read more
Upon a relisten because I was getting blasted on twitter my opinion remains the same
Danny Brown creates a bleak and dark expanse that he fills with the most biting and incredible lyrics out to tape, especially in the experimental hip-hop sphere. The beats do a perfect job at this, I feel lost while listening to this album, and in a good way.
However my gripe is with Danny himself. I do not like his voice and it won't really be something I can get past. Alongside his delivery it ... read more
Underrated as fuck imo. So many good improv moments on here and amazing jazz too
Yeah this one was rough. Couple of good songs off the bat got me excited just for me to just get extremely bored and tired of the next 30 mins. Not worth a listen imo
Truly a slight step above mediocre. There really isn't much here that wasn't done better on discipline
Some incredible work here
For the most part, I don't care for swans, its too long, repetitive, dark, whatever. I feel like I enjoy this album more than most of swans because Micheal Gira is a lot more laid back on this record. Many moments on this are very heartfelt folky tracks that just really work for me. Yes, there is some chicanery on here don't get me wrong, but it works with the theme and doesn't become overbaring.
