The best trip hop song of all time?????????? One of the best songs of all time????????
This song is amazing but the extended version on Substance is one of the greatest things mankind has created
This song has become a guilty pleasure for me. I’ve basically been listening to it on a daily rotation. Early 90s pop peak
Track after track of amazing house bangers. Easily one of the best dance records ever released and is now among some of my favorites with Surrender by The Chemical Brothers and The Fat of the Land by The Prodigy. Veridis Quo is one of the most beautiful things I've ever listened to.
Favorite songs: Digital Love, Veridis Quo, Face to Face, One More Time
Quite possibly my favorite electronica song ever. The vibe is intense and unmatchable, and it locks you in this visceral soundscape that really does feel at a loss of control. There’s something so compelling about how this song sounds and works, and I feel like almost no other electronica song can top that level of intimacy and intensity. Bernard Summer’s vocals are perfect on this song, and it almost kind of brings me back to tracks off of Power Corruption, and Lies & Substance.
Holy FUNKY !!!!
Burning Down the House continues to floor me to this day
The best Red Hot Chili Peppers song by a landslide imo. John Frusciante’s bugged out guitar solo at the end is otherworldly
What the actual fk happened in the late 1970s. So many bands were just producing the greatest music out of nowhere bruh
Complete beauty in dejection and carelessness. This album is incredible. I was lucky to see Modest Mouse live very recently and they played a lot of songs on this album and some of their older ones
A downcast song that presents alcohol as a man's only escape to freedom
I asked my teacher to play this as background music in class and some kid asked “What the hell is this?” It’s magic. Funky, transcendental magic.
Listening to Surfer Rosa feels like opening a textbook that’s been used for several years and is starting to fall apart
This song holds a special place for me in my heart. It’s a cornerstone of nostalgia and always evokes happy memories. Despite its cheesiness I feel like it’s kind of hard to hate this song, it’s beautiful despite it being in an overly saturated pop landscape
One of the most interesting and eyebrow-raising albums I've ever heard, however it never fails to be entertaining or fun to listen to. Viva! La Woman is so strange, but the wide contrast of the Art Pop/Trip Hop soundscape conveyed throughout the album is somehow brilliant and exceptionally amusing. It's a weird but fun record and I enjoy it a lot
