Death Cab for Cutie - I Built You A Tower
50

The only Death Cab for Cutie album I've ever listened to was Transatlanticism, which I gave a 90, sadly I just don't get much from this album. It soudns fine, there re some good moments, but I just don't get it, like in any capacity.

Haute & Freddy - Big Disgrace
75

A decent synthpop record. I do have to agree with the sentiment that sometimes they try a little hard though. I mean it doesn't reinvent the wheel nor does it need to. A pretty fun spin overall.

Shouldn't Known Better is a pretty good song, the acoustic version of Lesbian of the Year also fits the track well. Hypothetical is ehh and Perfect 10 is pretty good but I don't know how to feel about the spoken word part of the chorus in that song.

Iceage - For Love of Grace & The Hereafter
78

Very good post-punk album. I'm pretty hit or miss with the genre but I do like this album.

Kim Petras - Detour
35

This album is uhhh #notgood. I like electropop but sonically it's just not clicking, and lyrically this album perturbs me. All I will say is that there is a small little haven in the middle called the singles that approach acceptable quality. The beginning and the end are just not up to snuff in my mind. Oddly enough I kind of like Korea though, make of that what you will.

blink-182 - blink-182
95

Easily my favourite Blink-182 album. By far the band at it's best vocally and lyrically. Proof that the band could be serious and could still sound great while doing it. It's kind of a shame this is the only album they have that decided to be more serious (I like Neighborhoods and Dogs Eating Dogs but both are not as great as this record).

The Cure - Wish
80

I found out about this album through a blink-182 cover of A Letter to Elise, and decided to give it a listen. It’s very good and properly rated.

Static Dress - Injury Episode
80

I enjoyed Static Dress' last album, and I must admit I love this one. I'm going to lean towards this album being better, by a decent margin too. 15 tracks of greatness really, and hardly a dull moment, or a song where I felt it sounded a bit samey to some other ones on the album. Bravo.

Violet Grohl - Be Sweet To Me
60

It's fine, better than her dad's record. I'm not going to lie I thought her name was supposed to be some bit or joke but no she's actually just Dave Groh's daughter.

feeble little horse - bitknot
45

bitknot is a bit boring I'm afraid.

David Bowie - Aladdin Sane
80

Probably pretty closely tied to Hunky Dory in my mind in terms of Bowie albums. Just a great album all around.

David Bowie - The Man Who Sold the World
75

Bowie's songwriting definitely still stands out in this album even if the songs feel less catchy compared to his other albums.

Wednesday - Rat Saw God
45

Pretty underwhelming compared to Bleeds, which got me into the band in the first place, and is just an album I find myself coming back to. Maybe this album will be a slow burn too and grow on me, but right now I'm not feeling this record.

Bleachers - everyone for ten minutes
50

A pretty uninspiring and boring record. Maybe a second listen might give it a better score from me but it just makes me yearn for Bleachers' earlier work.

Car Seat Headrest - Teen of Denial: Joe's Story
70

It's still teens of denial (which is a good album), but any sonic changes are just minor enough that you could just chalk it up to the fact that it's been 10 years. Like I don't think it's as bad as the ratings suggest, but it really didn't need to be re-done. I think what irks me is the fact that Will thinks cleaning up on the "imperfections" of this album constitutes as improvement, when i think that's always been part of the charm for CSH for me. Broken Social Scene - Remember The Humans
60

Not the biggest fan of any particular individual song other than relief and paying for your love, but I was surprisingly impressed by how much I enjoyed this album as a whole. Walking around Toronto in one of the first super sunny and hot days of the season, this album reminded me of a summer road trip. Like if I put it on in the background I'd be able to drive for the whole length of it and find myself feeling pretty satisfied by the end.

Cola - Cost of Living Adjustment
55

Not the biggest fan of the vocal delivery that postpunk bands like this usually have, but sonically pretty alright.

The All-American Rejects - Sandbox
75

The production feels a little mediocre at times/could be a bit cleaner, but I was genuinely surprised The All-American Rejects had absolutely anything left to give in the year 2026. Like I remember them starting this comeback, playing in people's backyards, and hearing about how they were kind of shafted with their last album, but this album is like, half-decent? Don't particularly like the album cover, feels a bit juvenile (as do the lyrics sometimes), but this is easily the most ... read more

Koyo - Barely Here
75

As someone who listens to a lot of pop-punk/emo music, I thought I would find this album kind of whatever. Not to say I'm very picky about it, but since I listen to so much of it I really want the music to stand out in some way for me to appreciate it. And I have to admit, this album kind of blew me away. It's not perfect, but the way the songs transition into each other, the sound, it reminds me of how excited I was to hear Belmont's first album. It's great.

MUNA - Dancing On The Wall
70

A pretty catchy synthpop album, which I am a sucker for. I do agree with the 1975 comparisons, especially on the title track (which I don't mind it's great. See a couple reviews claiming this song has a political edge but frankly it's really only on Big Stick which I wasn't really big on. Not because I don't agree with the messages it seems to convey, it's just that it's so on the nose, and kind of all over the place that it almost becomes hard to tell what ... read more
