As a project CrasH Talk manages to be pretty heavy despite the 40 minute runtime. Boredom throughout with few highlights.
Btw I don’t understand why you’d get Lil Baby on your album when Young Thug and even Gunna exist.
Best: Floating, Numb Numb Juice, Attention
Worst: Drunk, Lies
Already two great albums to his name while there’s still so much time to get even better.
Never is amongst his greatest tracks but the rest is either forgettable or bad.
Pretty polarising. It’s somewhere in between really fun and really boring. X and Ski are a pretty fire duo with clear chemistry but for a lot of the time the energy wasn’t there.
Favourite songs: Freddy Vs. Jason, GXD DAMN, Fuxk
Least favourite songs: Amy Winehouse, Planet Drool
The idea of XXXTentacion making a Christmas ep is kinda comic but anyway. This is a really ‘whatever’ project. For me, one pretty cool track spawned from it and the rest are just throwaways. That one track being Indecision. I think it’s really gritty and moody. Definitely one of my favourite X songs.
Pretty throw together but also one of his best collections of songs.
Favourite songs: Look At Me!, Looking for a Star, King, Valentine, Slipknot, YuNg BrAtZ, RIP Roach
Least favourite songs: I Don’t Wanna Do This Anymore
Although it’s more uplifting than 17, this album is a complete mess. It’s a clear attempt to show off versatility but it just doesn’t piece together all that well.
At times i feel like X was trying to show people that he could do would what other soundcloud rappers could do and more. For example the shouting on Floor 555 reminiscent to the likes of Zillikami, 6ix9ine, etc. The rapping on going down! Is like he’s tryna impersonate Ski (who he apparently wasn’t on ... read more
Musically, I find this pretty enjoyable. The frequent use of low tempo production, slow background chants and X’s vocal versatility is sonically pleasing.
But the problems for me mainly lay in the grey subject matter. From the obnoxious intro to the minimal portrayal of what depression really is.. this album just wasn’t all it was meant to be. And that’s wack because as someone who believed in X as a musician, I think he could have maybe pulled this off. Instead, we’re ... read more
Damon’s amazing vocals shine in an eerily beautiful album. Takes a lot of elements from the Blur days but it’s a step above artistically.
Did Kendrick, Top Dawg, Isaiah, Ab, etc. really listen to this shit and tell him it’s ok to release it? It’s a 21 minute EP that manages to go on forever. Sounding annoyingly bored throughout.
Also who the fuck asked for a Lil Yachty feature?
I first heard of Dave three years ago when he was just seventeen already making huge waves with songs like Six Paths and Thiago Silva. What’s mad to me is the development and care he’s put into his rhymes since then to further improve himself, putting thought into his art. This album is really good. Dave’s storytelling, bars and, the way he projects his voice is unmatched by anyone in the UK rap scene since Dizzee dropped BIDC. This young, I don’t see why Dave ... read more
