The bonus a cappellas featured on here are really cool because it makes you focus on his every word rather than the instrumental.
I tried to listen to this and the production is nice, but the Scottish accent. I just can’t.
I don’t know when it happened, but there was a point in this album where I was hit with a feeling almost like dread. And it’s amazing when an artist can make you feel like that through his craft.
So, listening back to Mixed Personalities, I really like the track. From what I’ve heard of YNW Melly he’s one of these kinda throwaway ‘Thugger’s child’ rappers which is actually dope cause they’re all practically ear candy. Kanye’s input was minimal but sweet and with his recent run of features I’m actually content with him just appearing on the hook.

It’s not something that I’m gonna be going back to later in the year and it almost definitely won’t make my list but it’s a cool release.
Save Our Ship, Dog Years, Purple Moss
This is an album I always put off listening to last year and I really don’t know why
I was curious as to what Yorkshire rappers sounded like and this isn’t half bad. I feel like they’re overstating their accents tho, it sounds so stereotypically Yorkshire, whereas in reality it’s way more tame.
Quadry would benefit from polishing up his vocals a bit, but overall this is a really promising debut.
So as the year closes I realised I never gave my proper thoughts on this album which I wanna change as it has come to mean quite a lot to me over the past few months.
I put this over any Saturation album because the heavy subject matter linked to mental health and personal problems resonates with me. Hearing this album is so dope to me because some things I can relate to and others show us more about the main member’s struggle and come up to their place in hip hop today.
