I generally think AOTW is an album that I can enjoy with a friend. There are plenty of memorable riffs that are breakdowns the majority of the time.
I have nothing against breakdowns, but this album is groovy as fuck that I want to get into a mosh pit and cause sweet chaos. I'm forgetting to mention that this is the best groove metal album I've listened to, and it's truly ahead of its time including Pantera's album of Cowboys from Hell.
When I listened to this album, there were riffs that sounded good, but was forgettable after a while not thinking about it.
Even though it's "forgettable," I had enjoyed it thoroughly.
This album is a total banger for my buck. I enjoyed the entire album without skipping any songs that would be considered as "boring," and there is a lot of metalcore riffs that make you want to get off your seat and do something amazing
Honestly, Walking the Fallen is an emotional rollercoaster whenever I blast this while being angry over something; it's honestly a good outlet to do allocate my anger to this album, too.
The most enjoyable album I've listened a while back. This was when No Doubt started to pop off with their musicianship of making the best album to be enjoyable.
Tragic Kingdom is a fun album to listen to if I'm feeling down, and it has helped me to allocate my negativity to this album where I can fully enjoy myself.
I tried to get my asschecks into this album, but I just couldn't with some songs sounding the same from their last album. At least, there were some collaborations he made with BMTH and Babymetal. The best part of the album is when The End sounded very breakcore-ish, which introduced breakcore and metal simultaneously to the mainstream audience.
I think this album is a gateway toward shitty rap in general, but there are some songs that truly surpass the criteria of not sounding generic like ... read more
THIS album is the PROOF that they can maintain their sound while sounding fresh.
Edit (99-->80): I don't remember how fresh the album sounded until I had a relisten. I don't recognize that this is their best work, but there are some songs with their best moment and some with their worst moment. This is generally a mediocre album by Deftones standard.
Absolute generic punk pop I've heard. The collaboration between Oli and MGK sounded forced, too.
The overall vibe to this album has made me extremely emotional. It's well executed with constant blasts through each tracks I've listened here. The only part I don't like about this album is when a speaker in the Windows song, started going on a soliloquy about spewing the gospel, which I don't give a shit about.
The rest of the tracks in the album sound amazing and it made me tear up :)
White Pony holds a special place in my heart. This is when they found a sound that truly represented the band as a whole and stuck it since this album released to the public.
When I first heard it, it truly surpassed my expectations with shoegaze elements implemented in the majority of songs. I think Pink Maggit is the best song that represents my point I made regarding shoegaze.
Even though some people don't like the Mini Maggit or "Back To School" song, I quite like it when he ... read more
This was their first album that I listened to when they were trying to establish an identity. There were songs that sound like they're angsty teenagers (well because they're angsty teenagers at that time lol) and the writing of the lyrics quite generic. It's nothing special, but there's only one song I like which is going to be 7 Words.
I know people are going to say "but dude, he said the n word." That's the charm of it and the breakdown goes hard with Chino's fry scream.
Sempiternal was the best album in their discography when they incorporated electronica into their music. It adds a special atmosphere with an orchestra playing in the background usually.
I wish they'd continue with an identity like that after they released the TTS.
My favorite track in this album is going to be Empire, it's just quite emotional regarding the world we live in being a total mess.
Even though this single sounds amazing, I don't like how the song is all over the place. It has some hyperpop elements, which explains why this song sounds pretty "overproduced."
It sometimes hurt my ears that I want to lower down the volume of the song, which I don't usually do that for metal music; this was one exception.
Mixing the song was okay, but the autotune for Oli was too much for me and I don't like it. He could sing, but is he utilizing it for effects regarding the ... read more
I listened the entire album once, and I liked almost all of the songs; it's unpredictable, an adventure, and truly experience regarding soundtracks I've listened to.
Even though people are extremely polarized the direction A7X is taking, I want to see more of their style that resembles the song G: jazzy element included as a cherry on top.
There's nothing special regarding the entire song I listed out besides the song G. The rest of the tracks in the album doesn't compare to the standard of ... read more
