here’s the thing i dislike the most about beach house’s albums: halfway through the record, it just feels like you already heard everything they made and the rest keeps repeating itself. i understand that it’s a pop album and there’s no need for complex arrangements, heavy experimentalism, etc. but at least they could try to do something different for once. i appreciate the existence of the song “irene” here, it easily stands out in the tracklist. the whole ... read more
