great follow up album to snow angel. took a bit for this project to grow on me and initially felt this was a step down in quality from snow angel, but with time have found myself to love this project more and more. So many standouts i find myself returning to, and also my first full skip in renee's discography :0
favs = why's she still here, kiss it kiss it, good girl, at least im hot, i think i like you better when you're gone, you'd like that wouldn't you

greatttt debut album, with a great mix of upbeat and slower songs. - personality shines through - had this album on repeatttttt when it came out
favs = i hate Boston, snow angel, so what now, wedding song, pretty girls, i wish, 23
less favs = maybe willow but still enjoy
What a strange album. Extremely overhyped, much more than it warranted, and I personally was very excited for the Sabrina feature, to be a poorly written Greatest Showman cut. I really wanted to like this, as i thoroughly enjoyed TTPD, and was looking forward to a folklore type 1989 meets reputation, and this wasnt that at all. Coming from a fan, this is for sure one of her worst albums that i really have had little desire to return to or press play on.
The album production wise does have ... read more
ughhhh I just love Chris Lanzon. One of my favourite and so so SO underrated artists. This music is just beautiful to the ears. Such a well-crafted and joyous project that just feels so homely and comforting. The lyrics, the live instruments, it's a consistent, short, but also perfectly lengthened project that I know I will be listening to for years and years to come!! I think this came at such a perfect time for me. Also feels so different for Chris, with more powerful vocals, and more ... read more
What a gorgeous yet dark album. Need to listen to it more to get to know it better as i feel like the album did become a source of listeners fatigue with its sound, but i loved this so so much!! It was a harrowing experience for sure, but it felt like a project he needed to make for himself and part of a healing process from a dark past.
Favourites = drawn to the blood, death with dignity, should have known better, all of me wants all of you, blue bucket of gold
I mean i am a huge gracie fan so i'm writing this with that in mind, but wow i do love this album. I haven't listened to it front to back in a while, but listening to it, the melodies, the writing, and her using more power in her voice really make this album something. I was a huge huge fan of good riddance and all her earlier work and i saw that tour in 2023 which really solidified to me how amazing her voice is. Honestly i think seeing the songs from this album played live REALLY ... read more
This album is difficult for me to rate, as about 5 years ago when this came out i was a hugeee justin fan so i listened to this album loads. However in retrospect coming back to this project years later and actually listening to it properly along with the lyrics, the album is a bag of hits and misses.
A huge issue i had was honestly the features. There was honestly no point in many of their additions, especially on a justin album, where his vocals are the reason people are drawn in, and ... read more
WOW i loved this album. i think leading up to the album and with the single rollout, i wasn't 100% sure whether i would love this. What was that was such a grower and now one of my favourites off the album, and i was very much excited that this album could be going back in more of a melodrama pure heroin direction, after solar power not neccessarily having been for me. Man of the year while a great song, i feel like i didnt feel like i wanted to return to it often. However, this album is ... read more
This album is an odd one for me. I personally love renaissance, lemonade, and cowboy Carter, but this one just doesn't click with me so much. There are definitely some stand out tracks in this album and I do love all the voice memos dotted around the album. Having said this, the highs are high, and the lows are low. I find while the album is obviously self titled, it does do fairly well at exploring different aspects of her life. The album has some great tracks doing this, like heaven, a song ... read more
this album is so fun!! I love the production throughout the project, with each song staying within the dance-pop genre but having such unique sounds to each of them. The single choices as well were just incredible, with rush and get me started both being such highlights in the album. The saxophone outro as well gives the perfect such a perfect end. I also love the confidence troye exudes throughout in his own sexuality and the whole project just feels and sounds free and liberating. Such a ... read more
that is how you make a debut album!! this project is just filled with personality. This project honestly feels effortless, even though it obviously isn't, but that is how much confidence she exueds throughout in her writing as well as vocal choices. The album has everything. Spoken word, incredible vocals, fun pop songs, slow ballads, even a song made for a concert. The album is just pure fun and you're guaranteed for a good time whether or not you even enjoy it. Chappell also incredibly ... read more
What a perfect pop album melodrama is. I love the concept of it being created like the stages of a party, and the production honestly carries this project, creating such a unique sound in pop. I have enjoyed this album for a few years now and it just never gets old. Seeing some of these live at a festival also really changed the way I listen to them. Love this sound for Lorde and honestly hoping she returns to this sort of thing for her next album. Solar Power was ok but nothing compared to ... read more
Evermore is a brilliant follow up to folklore. While I do personally prefer folklore just because of its sound, I feel evermore potentially has a higher quality in terms of its production, as well as the complexity of its lyrics. While in the same folk-pop realm as folklore, I feel evermore does have a much different sound, making use of much more live instruments and guitars, having much more of a country influence in terms of the instruments used on songs like cowboy like me and its time to ... read more
I will start this review saying that I was a James Arthur fan back in sort of 2020-21 and I was fond of the album before this. Though I have sort of moved away from James and his sound I did want to give this album a listen. While I will say there has been a shift in the way that James has moved away from the trap beats and into the more pop-rock style, I found this album to feel very repetitive in its sound. It felt formulaic in the sense that each song would either be a ballad or a pop-rock ... read more
I haven't fully listened to both of Dua's albums and I know some, but I really enjoyed this listen. This album is just Summer, I feel like I'm should be sitting on a beach in the sun listening to this. While the lyrics are at points less developed and a few tracks I would probably not visit again, I really enjoyed it and it has such a good vibe and some great songs I enjoy. Normally im less of a fan of this genre but Dua is an exception! I feel the album does also have a great flow and I think ... read more
WOW. I love Rachel so much for this. just a beautiful album back to front. Every song has its rightful place and just sounds incredible. The production and instruments are insane throughout, with each song just sounding so different and unique. The lyrics and her amazing voice too ugh. So rare for someone to do so well on all 3 but she has done it. The production, lyrics, and vocals just merge together to create the perfect album. she is also naturally funny throughout, letting her humour and ... read more
midnightsssss. honestly such a vibe. the production is just so creative throughout, with the album being so cohesive yet every song having a distinctive unique sound to it. I also love her songwriting throughout the album. While not being one of my top Taylor albums I still love this and had this album on repeat for timeee. Yet another stupid arty user score and the album DID deserve AOTY at the Grammys.
Favourites = Lavender Haze, Anti-Hero, Snow on the Beach, You're on your own kid, ... read more
I LOVE this album. personally my fav from billie and it is just so inventive and fresh. Billie has really pushed the limits of creativity that someone so big doesn't normally do, and I love this direction. It has been on repeat and there are just no skips. Billie continues to have a skinless discography and I'm so here for this. Everything her and Finneas touch turns to gold. Every album has a different vibe, aesthetic, sound, and also I am obsessed with all the transitions as well ... read more
still praying the eras tour live songs will be made into an album and released onto streaming omfg
idk what is up with arty users but 48 is actually insane for this album. I personally love this album. On first listen I enjoyed the songs but didn't really have any idea about what I thought about it, and i didn't love it, but after 2-3 more listens it really grew on me. Firstly, her vocal arrangements on this album dare I say it are the best. You can hear so much emotion and passion, for example, in the smallest man who ever lived. The bridges on this album too are gorgeous. Lyrics ... read more
