It’s simply okay, but it’s not going to be a classic. Nas is just Nas a brand that doesn’t disappoint. As for Premier, after his recent collaboration projects that didn’t really stand out, I thought maybe he was saving his best beats for Nas. Turns out… not quite. Musically, it leans underground, at times even minimalist - production that’s more bass-driven than sample-driven. It’s a shame he didn’t lean more toward the vibe of Gang ... read more
Does this project reinvent the wheel? No.
Is it enjoyable from start to finish? Hell yes!
I swear, I had no idea about this project. But I caught up, and it’s awesome. It’s basically like a Busta and Dilla album!
I’m a fan of Alchemist’s production, not necessarily his rap. I think Hit-Boy’s work is somewhat overrated in terms of production. Still, I was looking forward to this album. And it’s… enjoyable. It’s just good to listen to. Well-produced, cohesive, and unobtrusive. Simply put - a solid album made out of passion. Cool stuff.
I think this album is overhated and underrated. If you cut out a few tracks that just don’t fit the overall style (like Bounce), and keep around 14 songs, it would actually be a really solid record. But people judge it through the lens of the previous three albums, so it ended up being unfairly dragged through the mud.
This is one of the best comeback albums ever. The album is great from the beginning to the end. Just great
I didn’t expect such a funky kind of sound/vibes from Jeezy. It’s a bit strange, a bit surprising, but still interesting. Bold move
Honestly, compared to the previous releases, this album is quite solid. The production is ambitious and fairly consistent throughout, though the vocal mix is uneven, with varying volumes from track to track. Overall, it’s an enjoyable listen, but not enough to push the rating into the green tier :P But overall solid effort.
With Westside Gunn I have this problem — I just can’t stand his ad-libs where he imitates a machine gun. I’d really like to listen to those albums, but once he starts with the brrr dot dot, I feel like turning it off. That being said, I really like the production on this record — sometimes, it’s right on the edge of trip hop, which is great. Griselda has always had that gritty beats aesthetic, but here it goes even a step further. Really cool.
As a next album of GFK - 6.5 -7/10. As a sequel to the original Supreme Clientele - 2.5/10.
This is Supreme Clientele 2 in name only. Unfortunately. He announced this album back in 2010, repeatedly changing both the release dates and the concept (In 2011, he said the album was almost finished!). Wanting to finally close the chapter, he dug up a few tracks, including some unfinished ones, added new material, and called it Supreme Clientele 2 for marketing reasons.

Great album – though to be fair, it’s only 20 minutes long, so it’s more like an EP. Roc Marciano fits Premier’s beats perfectly. Too bad it’s not twice as long, but hey, better this than nothing.
I believe this album is unfairly dragged through the mud. Some people might not like the shift towards love themes and R&B, but… Ghostface recorded this exactly in his own style — soul samples, a soulful spirit At the end of the day, there's no falsehood in this album. Ghostface didn't fake anything — he just explored a softer theme using the same soulful blueprint he's always had. And that's as real as it gets.
Raekwon is back after eight years since his last album The Wild. And it’s precisely The Wild that his newest release can be compared to — both share a similar vibe and production style, which is a good thing, because The Wild was a very solid record. The Emperor’s New Clothes doesn’t have any misses, but it’s also not quite on the same level as the two Only Built 4 Cuban Links albums. Still, it definitely ranks high within Raekwon’s overall discography. Good ... read more
Anyone calling this a group album or a Wu-Tang Clan comeback is either ignorant or a moron. Seriously — what is wrong with your ability to draw conclusions?
THIS IS NOT an official Wu-Tang Clan return album. This is a Mathematics album featuring the group. It's part of the same series as The Saga Continues, Chamber Music, and Legendary Weapons, but it's not a Clan album. They're not even promoting it on their social media. The only post from February says it's ... read more
