Many people were torn on this album after hearing the first single. And even more people were torn on this album when the second single came out. It's clear by the release of Permanating that Wilson had decided to go in a more pop direction on this record. In my honest opinion, this is probably Steven Wilson's worst album across most of his projects. But lets be real here, even Wilson's worst material is better than a majority of other peoples best material. This album is still great, and ... read more
Machine Heads latest release. I knew when I finally got to sit down and listen to this album that it would be ummm "interesting" The general theme of this album as you will see is "Boring, Bland, Unexciting" This album is one of the worse albums I have listened to in quite a long time. Which is a shame, because Machine Head a pretty nice streak of good albums. The Blackening to this day is one of my favorite thrash metal albums ever. I feel like when listening to this album ... read more
I have to admit, I have never been into the kind of sound that Between the Buried and Me has delivered over the years. But I have noticed over the years that their albums had started to feel a little more accessible to my tastes but not really delivering anything to me that stuck with me or that I thought was truly interesting to listen to. After hearing the song The Coma Machine I decided to give this album a full listen, and Oh man did I not regret it. This album quickly became my most ... read more
This EP is a very interesting thing. It shows fans that Mastodon still have some kind of creative song writing ability left in them. This EP is a mix of very different tracks then what you would expect from a typical Mastodon album. Its creative, interesting, and feels like a breath of fresh air compared to the uninspired studio LPs we have gotten from them in the past 8 years or so. It still isn't what you would want to hear from Mastodon, but it does feel inspired and interesting. Its the ... read more
This isn't a review as much as it is a PSA. In my 2 and a half decades of being alive I'm not sure that I have heard a song worse than The Pride. It is so bad that It causes me great harm trying to listen to it.
Best Tracks: Under and Over It, Coming Down
Worst Track: The Pride :^)
Reviewing a FFDP Album is a difficult thing. And by difficult I mean its difficult to decide which album is the actual worse album. I have listened to a lot of music over the years and I have to say FFDP are very consistent with the quality of music they put out, which is bad. Finding any amount of redeemable quality on this album is a very difficult task, and I would say its definitely contender for the worst/most boring metal album I've ever listened to.

Mastodon for nearly a decade now have continued to deliver unimpressive album after unimpressive album. Mastodon have proven in the past that they are capable of so much but with their last 3 albums have shown that they no longer care about writing impressive and creative material, but would rather throw minimal effort into their song writing and put something out knowing that it will sell regardless of what they do. Now with that being said this isn't a terrible album, and neither were the 2 ... read more
Trivium has basically become a meme at this point, with what seems like their material just getting progressive worse with each release. Each album sounding more uninspired and boring than the last for nearly a decade. The Sin and the Sentence is pretty much Matt Heafy doing a fan service. You can here a little bit from all of their albums throughout this album which ends up being a pretty solid album. And I have to say The Revanchist is easily the best written Trivium song since Shogun, and ... read more
If your one that is getting bored with the kind of direction bands like Opeth and Katatonia are going, and really enjoy Tool, This album is for you. Easily the best Progressive release that I have listened to all year. It seems to me that Soen have finally found themselves and hopefully they continue to pump put music like this for years to come.
Best Tracks: Sectarian, Orison, Opal, Sister (Too many to choose just 1)
Worst Track: Lucidity
