Truly one of a kind
Godspeed You Black Emperor's second album Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven was the first album of its kind I ever listened to. I was blown away by it. Genuinely blasphemy that this album only has a 71. While Fear Inoculum is reserved and lengthy, the songs on this record are yet more complex and meditative than Tool’s previous work, especially Invincible which may be my favourite tool song
Genuinely such a banging good album. I know some of the sounds on this may not be for everyone, but it is undoubtably interesting and an important album in the discography of Swans. Listening to this made me realise just how much the band went back to their roots for albums like To Be Kind and The Beggar. The shapes and riffs on this album are repetitive and hypnotic, powerful and confronting.
