It’s so nice just to have an album that’s straight up fun to listen to. With it being a “fun” album, none of the production, artistry, or musical capability was comprised either which is a huge accomplishment.
For some reason this album is really clicking for me right now. Something about it feels so fresh but also nostalgic at the same time. Production is very unique, honestly nothing reminds me of it which is becoming more rare these days. Some songs I’m not a huge fan of, but otherwise a very unexpectedly touching album.
Nothing really stuck out to me on this one. The Oklou feature song is probably the closest one but nothing made it to my playlist.
There’s some moments when I really works for me and others where it doesn’t. There probably only three or four songs I would return to personally. I like the concept, not sure I love the execution.
More range than her last album and that’s a good thing, the rock influence balances the themes a lyrical content nicely. A few tongue in cheek lines mark the phoebe touch we know and love.
Crazy sad but she does it so well. A bit self-indulgent? Who’s to say. This is straight up sad folk pop for the heck of it and I ate this up in college
Some classic songs on here, the whole album hasn’t stuck with me as much but still a good listen throughout
Tap is such a highlight for me. Love the instrumentation on this one
A beautiful collage of scenes and images taken from her Texas upbringing and culture. An intriguing, groovy, and engaging listen
“Your children have grown and you never made your wife moan your children have grown and you never made your wife moan” 🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️
It’s like how I imagine it feels listening to Taylor Swift and Linda liking it
Wow it’s amazing to hear a sound like this come out of the late 80s. Being more familiar with the wild colors and poppy sound from this era I was wildly amazed by the depth and atmosphere that was crafted here. True quality over quality, after the first song I knew this would be something else. A true nighttime album, you can’t help but be placed in that feeling from start to finish. Can’t wait to spend time with this one.
In a cultural moment where faith seems to hold less and less value, and authenticity is a rare commodity, it only makes sense that Rosalia has turned to her spirituality to reorient her. Whether you’re spiritual, religious, or atheist, there are common grounding themes within this album that convict all of us to consider what is life truly about and what will truly last? Beyond that, it’s so good to know that the spirit of art pop visionaries lives on in this project, as invoked by ... read more
more nuance happening in the writing than nu world I think. I enjoyed it! Definitely some replay value
It doesn’t get much better than this because it doesn’t get much more genuine than this. That’s my favorite folk music. I mean the guy had practically no audience in his time, his only incentive was to make music from the heart.
