After a few listens, I’m still not completely sure I understand what the album is trying to achieve as a whole, though one thing is very noticeable: the band clearly drew inspiration from multiple phases of their career. You can hear bits and pieces of different stylistic eras woven throughout the record, it occasionally comes across as less sharp than I expected, and there are moments where the album loses some momentum.

I’ll be that person and say the last one hit me harder, but this album’s still really damn good. Currents know what they’re doing.
I love Spite, but people seriously need to stop expecting Dedication to the Flesh 2.0 every time. The new track’s great, the Will feature didn’t quite hit, but overall they delivered. One of the year’s standouts, for sure.
Bad Omens will always be my favorite band. This song’s chorus didn’t hit as hard as I expected, but it’s still a beautiful piece — maybe my second favorite of the three releases this year. Noah’s in that fragile, conflicted space again, though I think some choices could’ve been sharper. The guitar sound lovely, though. They’re absolutely ethereal at this point.
I’ve always loved Avatar, and this release had me so excited. It’s a bit uneven, but still such a blast — I just wish they’d gone heavier in a few tracks. No one else does it quite like them.
