The Callous Daoboys - I Don't Want to See You in Heaven
88

this was genuinely surprising. i was not super familiar with the callous daoboys or mathcore in general, so i came in with zero expectations. and i have to say, although sometime the vocal line wasn’t the most pleasant for me, the overall mix and production was spot on. also shoutout to one of the most beautiful closing tracks to an album i’ve ever heard.
favourite track: III. Country Song in Reverse

zayok - In elsewhere
91

a beautiful discovery. the synth use is very creative, the song structure makes every turn it can and still keeps its underground feeling. also i can find some similarities with EDEN, which to me is probably the best at combining synthpop and edm. really a great album.
favorite track: Blood and arrow, tranquilize heart

SANTI FRANCESI - in fieri
45

traccia preferita: Il pagliaccio

Ruel - Free Time
60

pretty generic pop, with a clear inspiration from shawn mendes (starting with ruel's voice). almost all the songs didn't stand out to me, so it turned out to be a very passive listen.
favourite track: Painkiller

South Arcade - PLAY!
75

south arcade have established themselves as a very fun and catchy pop punk band, with some interesting layering and riffs, and this ep confirms it. even if it’s clear as day they’re an industry plant, the potential is there. i still think the nostalgia is carrying them more than anything, and i hope i’m proved wrong, so i’m interested in seeing how they evolve and keep up with the scene
favourite track: FEAR OF HEIGHTS

slenderbodies - simple shapes
70

overall a pretty enjoyable listen. the sound, even if catchy and pleasant, is pretty straightforward and not that flexible, but the general vibe was interesting.
favourite track: chamomile

Deftones - White Pony
90

the variety of emotions you can feel listening to this album is incredible. probably their work i was impressed by the most so far. also imma say for the hundredth time that chino’s voice range impresses me so much. my excitement for this journey grows with each listen.
favourite track: Pink Maggit

Loathe - Revenant
90

HEAVY gored and broken vision rhythm vibes. the metric change is absurd. loathe is so back

Deftones - Around the Fur
85

this was a wonderful listen.
you can clearly see the change occurring in their sound, and i think this album sums up what their future sounds like. chino’s voice, as well as the overall sound, moves smoothly between a raw scream to a heartfelt melody. very beautiful.
favourite track: Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away)

Scout - Everything Will Make Sense
55

pretty generic pop. didn't stand out at all to me, especially after a girl in red album.
favourite track: Gemini Baby

trauma ray - Carnival
75

pretty good, didn't stick to me as much as i thought it would.
favourite track: Clown

Matilda Mann - If That Makes Sense
70

probably the best kind of music to listen to while it's raining outside and you need a comfy feeling with some hot chocolate.
apart from that, not that remarkable. matilda's voice is very good, it really brings you into her world. it just didn't stand out that much to me. hope she evolves in the future, cause she has all the potential in the world.
favourite track: Pure Madness

girl in red - if i could make it go quiet
75

i guess i'm probably not the kind of public girl in red relates to, but i still found this album very enjoyable. her voice is magnetic, it drags you towards her sound and what she's saying. a very solid and emotional indie pop album
favourite track: Call You Mine

Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin IV
98

i tend to put the historical value aside when i’m listening to an album, especially with older ones, because it’s important to me if the music didn’t stand the passing of time. having said that, this was a masterpiece. incredible riffs, progressions, vocal lines. an impeccable sound from start to finish. one of the closest examples to perfection i’ve ever had the pleasure to listen to.
favourite track: Stairway to Heaven

Geese - Getting Killed
90

a really great album with a unique sound. unsettling and beautiful at the same time. cameron’s voice is incredible, at times it reminds me of jeff buckley and julian casablancas. overall a really remarkable take on rock music.
favourite track: Getting Killed

Father Koi - everything is a dream, but it is your dream
65

pretty fun overall, just didn’t stick to me as much as i wished it did. the potential is big, i hope she evolves her sound a bit more
favourite track: silk

Deftones - Adrenaline
75

this was the second deftones album i’ve listened from start to finish. i got introduced to them by private music, so i can say i had no reference going into this record. and i have to say i enjoyed it very much. even if i can’t say i’m a huge nu metal fan, chino’s vocals and the raw sound were really pleasant. i can’t wait to see how they evolved their sound with the following albums
favourite track: Birthmark

The Backfires - Consider The Backfires
80

pretty straight forward rock, but still very catchy
favourite track: Falling

Loathe - Dimorphous Display
90

i get why people dont like the mix and overall feel of this song. its rawness and industrial vibe can be unsettling. unlike others, i dont think its that messy or unbalanced. the vocals are just incredible (to think that kadeem can go from heavy screams to that chorus is crazy) and the atmosphere is very dark and dreamy, as loathe used us to. plus, i think its gonna become my favorite loathe song with every listen

PRESIDENT - King of Terrors
48

i think that calling this pretty generic metal is the understatement of the year. as much as i love genre contamination, as i think it gives music new life and new possibilities, the line between inspiration and straight up copy-paste of bigger and better bands that did this before PRESIDENT gets very thin. i still see the potential, so i hope they can use this audience they got by being industry planted to make something more personal and unique
favourite track: In the Name of the Father
