this is an unexpected and enjoyable album, it reminds me of Ray of light by Madonna. The themes that revolve around the songs are so poetic I love it. The production separates each song well and the bops are amazing. No low points, all high points.
It's not a perfect 10 but overall it's a 10. Super vibey and it sounds like you're walking on a street and simultaneously partying. Truly shows his handle over production. This is one of the aotys for me. This sounds exactly like a club. This sound cannot be replicated. This just shows how talented Jamie is at electronic production
I have no words. This is dogshit. There is no character. This is so bland. Anyone can make this, but out of everyone, Katy Perry? Nothing special, nothing good, nothing vibrant, it's just monotone. The vocals are so horribly over processed too. Every song is annoying af
THIS SUCKS SO BADLY
but it has bops
It has some of the best pop classics ever: Teenage Dream, California Girls, firework etc
BUT IT HAS PEACOCK, the most derivative song I've ever heard with the album also containing some of the most blandest and boring dance synth-pop tracks that sound straight out of a Disney movie. The lyrics on the horrible song are Horrible and just cliche. The songs miss the fun that the singles had. I expected better. Teenage Dream & it's singles are still ... read more
I never want to listen to this again because it is the saddest and most carthartic thing I have ever heard
This is too sad for anyone to comprehend.
Death is real and so are his lyrics
The intimacy and the way the song is written gives you the perspectives into what happened in real life with the death of his wife after the birth of his daughter. You can feel the grief and the detail. However, you can tell the album isn't for you to hear, it's for his wife, and it's the most ... read more
So l relistened and I rly enjoyed it? It really does sound like a culmination of all her sleepless nights with the dreamy production with the confessional and sometimes delirious songwriting adding to the atmosphere.
Each song straying from another in terms of sound and themes and topics makes it sound like a culmination of nightmares and sweet dreams, with some songs having some of her most confessional songwriting. it is a relatable and drowsy listening experience that I greatly overrated
This is so boringly fun The dare tries to spark the interest in Hance punk in the music world, and fails sadly. It's too similar sounding to it's pioneers, like legendary band LCD Soundsystem, with many of the songs having a very shallow interface constantly talking about sex for 6 songs straight. The production is immaculate however, and saves it from being a drag of an album. The sound gets tiring eventually but it is a lovely listen. There are TOO many songs about sex but it is a ... read more
This is the peak of pop music, with the hint of experimentalism and cutting lyrics that are sharp and relatable. With Cathy melodies and hookn that are so catchy that they are used in some of the most famous pop songs in the world. The whole album has this ambience of... Walking through a city, or a vast room. It has the nostalgia or the 2010s while still sounding fresh. Her vocal performance is extraordinary too. This is my fourth favourite album of all time now🤷♂️
Lorde's 'Melodrama' is the best album of all time. "Melodrama" is the highly anticipated album of Lorde's after dropping her critically acclaimed "Pure Heroine" with many fans and critics wondering if she would be able to change the music landscape again. And she did. Melodrama is this loud, bold and impressive statement from an artist at only 19, with pop bangers that will definitely be a essential in the "pop bible" conversations. Jack ... read more
There's nothing really standout-ish except for starburster and the lead singers voice is kinda grating not very pleasant. Overall it's a nice vibe but it's not something I ever see myself returning to. It's a well produced, well written album that has nothing out of the blue that really stuck with me
The mixing is terrible honestly with some of the most camp lyrics I've ever heard. Camp lyrics are fine but you can't overuse it or else it doesn't have the same vibe anymore. The ballads are rly boring too and the upbeat retro vibey songs saved this song more. Just e fix the production this would sound in much better. Like during the song "sharpest tool", you can't hear what she's saying in the second verse as it's muffled. Overall kind of disappointed ... read more
