This album is absolutely packed with generational songs it's kinda insane.
This feels like a 90s hiphop equivalent to a classic period Stevie Wonder album both sonically and in the way it explores it's themes. Hell there is even a semi-Stevie tribute here in the form of "Every Ghetto, Every City". Now that might seem like a very high bar to cross (which it is) but Lauryn Hill gets it so right.
There is almost no dull moment on this entire album, every song hits so freakin ... read more
Thee introvert anthem and as a fellow introvert it gains my upmost approval.
This is unlike anything I've ever heard, the psychedelic bumpy sound and the sublime writing makes this an absolutely incredible listen that weirdly makes me feel seen. I wonder if anyone else has felt that listening to this album.
goddamnit I was so excited for this. I love ILDMLFY and was looking forward to what he would do after that since that one was so interesting.
This album however is not interesting at all, It's way too self indulgent especially with a title like "Experimental Rap" and the writing also showcases that woefully. Maaaaaybe if the rapping and flows themselves were good then I could excuse it but his rapping is just so samey across the whole album, it's draining.
At least the ... read more
Is it controversial to say this is Kanye's best album? cuz I actually think it is.
The wild but brilliantly executed production, the great writing that really showcase who Kanye is/was as a person, the great pacing
it all makes this probably my favorite Kanye West album of all time
this is your typical Drake affiar, it's way too long it has no interesting things going for it and the writing is lowkey pathetic.
I'm absolutely not listening to the other two albums as they honestly based on clips I've heard sound even worse than this one and if I'm being real I think I need a pretty long time away from Drake's music in general for now.
more than one year after TBTV and Zay still hasn't fully proven why he deserves to be taken seriously on the same level as other bigger rappers.
I found this album pretty boring. it doesn't have any unique attributes that make it worth listening fully more than one or two times. I actually think this is slightly worse than TBTV. at least that one showed alot of diversity within the songs, and him playing two characters was really creative. even if that was dragged down by the ... read more
I had one very consistent thought while listening through all the tracks: "I like the production quite alot, but Drake himself does nothing for me".
some of these instrumentals are genuinly briliant, but Drake's boring voice and so so lyrics do drag this down a bit for me
Daði gets better and better with each new release.
I really enjoyed his previous album, but the one thing that was keeping it from being even better was that the production was kinda boring. it was missing alot of the silly charm of songs like Think About Things and 10 Years. that doesn't mean it didn't have anything like that, but it just felt like it needed a bit more.
luckily this album fully brings that to fruition. this is such a damn fun time. these songs show off all of ... read more
clean, smooth and funky album. it's maybe a lil basic, but still a decently fun album
Absolute garbage.
it's not clever, it's not fun, it's not charming, it's just really really really bad
the writing and often chill production is what really speak to me on this project. the vocal performances however, leave something to be desired
these are some cute, sweet bedroom pop tunes that are nice in the moment, but don't leave a ton behind after that
production carries this joint hard.
I honestly really don't like the lyrics and singing, but what's behind that is geniunely some of the best production of this year so far, so luckily I still enjoy this a bunch
urghh.... this album has some great gems, but sadly it has to share living space with the countless tracks that do nothing for me.
very very inconsistent
this album is filled to the brim with with funky ass beats and infectious vocal performances that make this a very fun listen, although by the end I'm kinda left wishing it did a bit more with what it's got
looks like Thundercat is back with a fresher, more refined sound which makes for a pretty enjoyable album, even if it does get a little sleepy towards the end
I was really impressed by Mac's supurb songwriting, raw vocals and the great production.
It's an incredibly soothing listen. Almost too soothing.
