Who knew some obscure band who's last album was basically kids bop rock would suddenly shadow drop one of my favorite albums of the year. This really is such a vibe, and I'm more than shocked by just how much I enjoy it.
There's plenty of variety, from folk and acoustic to shoegaze of all things. I am just made to like this album
Strongest: Slow & Steady, Perfect, Seeds, Don't Let Go
Weakest: Death, Hello
Pretty solid and chill; nice to see this band come back, especially after a rather quiet year for music
Really wonky with the lyrics, not to mention some annoying production
At its best, Strange Trails offers a somber counterpart to lonesome dreams. At its worst, Strange Trails is an active waste of time, lacking the sauce of its predecessor :/
Strongest: Love Like Ghosts, Fool For Love, The Yawning Grave, The Night We Met
Weakest: Meet Me in The Woods, Louisa, Until the Night Turns
Honestly, it's a pretty boring album, there's good themes for sure but the execution lacks energy and identity half the time
Strongest: Wash, Why, Horoscope
Weakest: Wash2, father figure,
Believe it or not, it's an average song. Anyone trying to explain to you that this is the Mona Lisa or that it's a war crime given musical form needs to chill
One way you can tell someone has no life and just feels like review bombing is when they opt to review IMAGINE DRAGONS EVOLVE GERMAN SESSIONS. Who on earth even heard these enough to have any opinions on them?
The self titled track and My Dear Friend are all fantastic additions to the Vian Izak discography, the rest of them are alright
Here's how you find a communist: if they say they're a communist; and if they say they're not a communist(because that's exactly what those reds would say!)
A Day At The Races was better :/
Strongest: Bohemian Rhapsody, The Prophet's Song, Death on Two Legs
Weakest: I'm in Love With My Car, Good Company
I've never seen such a concentration of critic reviews that say basically nothing for an album
Certainly up in consistency with a day at the races and carries many depressing undertones given the circumstances of its production. I can absolutely see what people mean when they call this Queens best album, as it convinces me that maybe they aren't as overhyped as some would lead you to believe.
Strongest: Innuendo, Headlong, Ride The Wild Winds, The Show Must Go On
Weakest: Delilah
As much as I found the vampires annoying, the soundtrack was top notch all throughout.
Tried to pretend these don't exist, but they're just too good
Strongest: Home, Starlight, Bygones
Weakest: Atari
First one here so I'm automatically the expert on this song. Last thing I expected after Who Laughs Last and the country twang is a bit distracting. After that, however, you got a solid diddy about the great inconvenience of love and it's wicked timing
I don't even have to finish this to understand it's a vibe. I will say that I feel that the album drags near the end, There's Nothing More to Say wraps things up pretty well, then it just keeps going. I respect that the latter songs were more experimental but alas
Half of these tracks are genuinely fantastic, while the other half go in one ear and out the other. Nevertheless, those peaks, the improved production, and that really sweet outro makes this project worthwhile
Strongest: Blu, Stupid Deep, The Internet
Weakest: Couple's Retreat, Adult Swim, Let's Begin
The instrumentals are a vibe, but I couldn't really parce out all those lyrics. Overall, pretty solid and feels like a crossbreed of persona and COAP
