I've always been a huge fan of Mastodon, and I've heard nearly their entire discography. But for some reason, my brain has always told me to ignore this album. FUCK MY BRAIN FOR THAT! This is the greatest Mastodon has ever sounded.

After listening to Orchid, I was a bit worried about this one's length. Thankfully Morningrise does not have the same problems as the previous album

I dont think its possible to feel sad while listening to this

Nothing really stands out except for Atomic Karate which is a banger

While its not as consistent as The Mollusk, Quebec still has its own charming ways of working itself into my heart.

By the halfway point I got really bored, the only track that stands out in the end half is "remember me"

Those first 3 tracks grab you and REFUSE to let go.

What an experience, the sounds this album manages to produce are devastating yet beautiful.

Generic metalcore that does some cool stuff every few songs.

Whitechapel casually reminding us why they are the goats of deathcore

Some pretty damn powerful metalcore. In Crystal Roses it sounds like she says "fart" lol

Stupid as shit but oh my god sonically it sounds so fucking good. The only sin from this thing is the reverse version of Red Flags which is terrible

A bit conflicted because while it sounds great it still doesn't do enough to justify its length

All of it is really good it just needs some more polishing in its execution

Neither great nor awful this album provoked a lot of weird feelings of nostalgia for me

The weakest I have heard by them, still pretty damn good

They play into the cleans a lot more in this LP which I think works more towards their sound. I know some people hate cleans in certain metal subgenres but I cant lie im such a sucker for it.

A lot more memorable and musically interesting than "The Nothing That Is". Lowkey really enjoying listening to this band today
