Like Pinkerton with less heavy vocals and I don’t know what they’re saying because I don’t speak the language
Mfs will say they like “experimental” music until it comes to five starcle men singing in a language they made up themselves
Fishmans’ Long Season to me represents life. As you listen to Long Season you feel everything you’ve ever felt flow through you as you are taken through these 5 phases of an album in which you gain more every time you listen to it. Depending on my mood it affects me differently every single time. Some days you randomly feel down and sad, but it’s not the same exact feeling every time. One time I listened to this when feeling down and it caused me to release my emotions and cry ... read more
Not gonna lie to you here, was I a big fan of 2014 FHD? No, I wasn’t. Most of the subject matter and lyrics on that album were pretty cringey and hard to take seriously. But it was a fun album, J. Cole had a well-defined sense of sound in his album, he knew exactly what he was going for, and it sounded great. While that album wasn’t enough to get me excited for another J. Cole album, it had fun production and a sleek flow that gave it a sense of style. I haven’t listened to ... read more
When I first reviewed this album I absolutely loved it. Now I love it even more each and every listen. The late 70s, the beginning of synthpop and pretty much modern electronic music in general. “Tokyo,Tokyo” and “T-E-C-H-N-O-P-O-L-I-S” are all you need to describe the opening track, as it feels to me like the essence of electronic music. It is futuristic, fun and ahead of its time. Absolute Ego Dance is what you get when a band has fun with experimenting and the product ... read more
Does OK Human have the emotion conveyed in 1996's Pinkerton? Does it have the same fresh sound the Blue Album brought in 1994 that still sounds fresh to this day? Will it have the lasting impact of those albums? Does it have hidden meaning in simplistic lyrics like the Blue Album?
The answer to all of these? That is definitely a no.
So why is it an 85? "OK Human" came out at the perfect time. Back in January and still to now at the time of this review in Late March, everyone, ... read more
I created an account on this website a week ago to broaden my music horizons, and I should have done this way quicker. I was someone who listened to maybe 20 new albums in 2020, as the heavily promoted ones rarely interested me so most of the time they were not great when there was one that listened to me. My favorite was Song Machine by Gorillaz which is actually great, but this album shows me how much I was probably missing out on. I've never really gotten into shoegaze, I listened to My ... read more
Abstract Hip-Hop has never been my thing, very rarely do I greatly enjoy abstract hip hop, and that was not much different here. However, that does not mean I don’t have lots of praise for this album. Even though I don’t typically enjoy abstract hip hop or the way it flows, there was never a moment where I went “Wow, this is bad.” The production by The Alchemist was always slick and kept the song going, even though I may not personally love it, but I did love most of ... read more
I have never heard of or listened to Citizen before, but was interested by the album cover. I had a lot of fun with this one, so I am glad I found it. Every track has elements that I like about it, but about half of tracks also have elements I don’t like. Mainly the vocals get rough quite a few times here and certain instruments get drowned in a sometimes bad mix, but production here is consistently pretty good and all the tracks are at least fun in one way or another. I feel like this ... read more
Let’s go!!!

DaBaby has high energy on the album, but it still felt boring most of the time, nothing really stood out because they all felt almost the exact same. Despite his high energy compared to other rappers and actually pretty good flow, these songs were boring except Suge, which I actually liked. I think the main thing for me is that even though being a pretty standard rap album with not much experimentation, it has bad lyrics that are basically just bragging about himself ... read more
Orange is a fun album with high energy. This album has some great Basslines, and I love the vocals throughout. In the second half of the album other than Kansha. There’s some decent pop melodies and harmonizing in here, but some of the reggae aspects especially in woofer girl are just meh. I didn’t hate any songs cause I thought the vocals were good throughout and the songs were enjoyable because of this. Kibun is probably my favorite on here and I love it, the harmonizing and the ... read more
This album is very, very creative. This is one of those albums where in my opinion the only way to listen is with headphones. This whole album is a genius mix of different genres and samples. “Mic check” is the perfect opening, it introduces you to how the album is gonna sound and showcase the production of it, giving you a small taste. You start off in the studio with them and then are transported into the music. Micro Disneycal tour transports you to a theme park by having this ... read more
Wow, I found this album a few hours ago and have been listening nonstop ever since. This is one of the only albums ever where I just absolutely fell in love with it instantly. I’m not even a particularly big jazz fan, but there is so much emotion here in every track. Every track just makes me feel happy and the production here is some of the best I have ever heard in jazz. Every strike of a drum, every strum of the bass, every touch of the piano has the trios entire heart and soul poured ... read more
