Logic - YSIV

was pretty surprised how much i enjoyed ts

Ariana Grande - thank u, next
78

"break up with ur girlfriend cause im bored" is fucking insane.

anyways chill lil project from miss Grande but I prefer eternal sunshine overall

Ab-Soul - Control System
76

unfortunately, I wasn't able to get on with the production. It was genuinely just kinda sleepy

Tyla - TYLA
75

She has a great voice and the prod complemented it quite well. I wanted to see a little more on the production side and some more variety but for the most part it was enjoyable. I'm curious to see where she takes her career.

1st half was much better than the 2nd half.

Favs: Water // No. 1 // ART

Travis Scott - UTOPIA
83

The consistency is all over the place on this project but its got some incredibly unique and diverse production with some of Travis' best work scattered through some of his just okay stuff.

Favs: MY EYES // HYAENA // SKITZO // I KNOW ? // SIRENS

Kanye West - Graduation
88

Graduation is a great album, no question. But the way casual listeners crown it his magnum opus is genuinely frustrating. The College Dropout, Late Registration, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, 808s & Heartbreak, and Yeezus all exist. Five albums that push harder, hit deeper, and take bigger risks. Graduation is the most accessible entry point into his catalog, which might be exactly why it gets overrepresented. It's the one that sounds easiest to love on first listen. Give it its ... read more

Baby Keem - Ca$ino

A few words to describe this album: all over the place.

Yeah, I dunno man wasn't a huge fan when it first came out, and it's still not clicking. I'd love to be able to enjoy this as much as The Melodic Blue, but I just can't get over this track list. The title track is very hard, and "I am not a Lyricist" is cool, but other than that, nothing crazy going on here. Pretty damn underwhelming considering the wait and his previous work being a great album. I just feel ... read more

Mitski - Nothing's About to Happen to Me

Just diving into other genres and stuff. I'll Change for You is freaking incredible, the rest of the album is just okay or good.

Samara Cyn - Detour
85

Cyn is 100% having fun on this project, and it shows. There's something infectious about hearing an artist who genuinely loves what they're making, and that energy bleeds through every track. On top of that, she has an amazing voice, which only makes her already elite rapping hit even harder.

This is without a doubt her best work. She's clearly leveled up, and after spending time with this project, she's easily become one of my favorite upcoming artist. The talent is ... read more

Jean Dawson - Rock A Bye Baby, Glimmer Of God

What the actual hell is that snare on witchcraft im crine.

Yeah the extra songs really don't do much for me. I think the self titled track is a bit overrated. Its still good, but not amazing level. Prize Fighter and GODISADJ are the best songs here.

Jean Dawson - Glimmer of God
77

Houston and Darlin' is so freaking good but the rest of the album is lacking.

Lexa Gates - I Am
75

Solid LP from Lexa Gates who showcases her abilities as an artist over a selection of mediocre to good beats. Whilst the consistency of the project is all over the place, it still manages to stay engaging and good enough to stay. 2nd half was a little boring though.

Favs: Past It / Rest Of My Life / I Don't Even Know

She definitely has potential as both a rapper and a singer. I'm looking forward to seeing where she takes her talents in the future. Especially after listening to songs ... read more

Clairo - Charm

What the hell inspired me to listen to something completely outside of my taste profile on the Friday Drake dropped 3 fucking albums? I dunno, guess I just felt like it. This shit was heavenly

Favs: Nomad // Add Up My Love // Juna // Thank You

Thank You for the experience Claire. I will be tuning in from now on

Kenny Mason - Angel Eyes
82

A pretty good mixtape from that ranges from good to amazing tracks with low consistency. He's kinda just experimenting with his sound and I really like the beats on these tracks and the sub genres he dabbles in. Dude also got some really solid lyricism and flow. I played the absolute shit out of BEEN HAVIN when I first listened to this a year ago but it's def fallen off a bit. Still an amazing song.

Favs: ANGEL EYES // BEEN HAVIN // HOODRAT

Kenny Mason - Pup Pack: 3rd Shift
82

The best pack overall (if we aren't counting burn it up existing) . All these songs are just fun. The production on both Moonlight and RaceTrac is so cooool and levitate aint bad either

Kenny Mason - Pup Pack: 2nd Shift
70

Definitely the weakest pack out of the 3. Diamonds is cool but nun special. I don't like Gorgeous, and 4 is just ehh.

Kenny Mason - Pup Pack: 1st Shift
82

Burn it up is so fucking hard to the point I made a deluxe addition of BULLDAWG and added it to the main tracklist lmfao. Loyalty is just okay, but I do like A1 tho.

Kenny Mason - BULLDAWG

Reviving this profile lmao

Wow dude, what an album from Kenny Mason. I absolutely love this dudes sound and variety, ESPECIALLY his rock blends. It's so damn unique and bro can fucking rap. Definitely one of the most hype projects I've listen to for the year

Unfortunately I'm not a massive fan of the JID feat. Both of them went crazy in the verses but the beat and chorus is pretty repetitive imo. The hook just sounds kinda draggy

J. Cole - The Fall-Off

where tf my boy JID at Cole.

Album has some of the highest in Cole's catalog but it also got a bit of bloat. DISC39 CLEARS DISC29.
