my beloved "frozen niagara falls" in the recommended section :)
somehow, after my review of "don't be afraid of dying", i got the sudden urge to go through sewerslvt's discography, which was strange since as you could tell from that review, i dislike jvne as a person. why would i want to listen to somebody who's so morally compromised? i'm as confused as you are, but i did like "starving slvts always get their fix", so fuck it we balling
i would ... read more

now i can't believe i have to clarify this, but i don't like jvne as a person. i do tend to enjoy their music post-"starving slvts always get their fix", and there are some unproven accusations against them such as being a "cat murderer" (although messages have been found of them admitting to this; however it could be for shock value, i'm not 100% sure), ... read more

Weezer - Pinkerton

...oh boy, i'm gonna get stoned to death for this one
yeah, i did not enjoy this, which is disappointing since on the surface, noisier and more awkward weezer sounds great! weezer were already known for being awkward virgincore right from the beginning, but them becoming more personal and offputting sounds like it could work! it did not though, as the lyrics try way too hard to make you feel sympathetic for rivers about.....having too much sex? rejecting romance entirely? falling head over ... read more

Wolf Eyes & Prurient - The Warriors

when i saw that prurient, whom as you may know is one of my favorite artists of all time (hell, i've given him 9 100s), and wolf eyes, whose album "burned mind" i gave a 98, made a split album, naturally i was very excited to listen to it! if two noise artists whom i've given quite high scores to make an album together, it should be good!
and i was right, this is a very ominous release from the both of them, with wolf eyes' half being much more atmospheric and ... read more

c'mon, if you're gonna make a fetish album at least make it good 😭
this tries way too hard to be disturbing but only comes across as irritatingly boring sludge, not to mention that the samples of crying, whimpering, and even screaming throughout feel as though they were glued on haphazardly last second, the concept is upsetting too with it being about the artist's fantasy of getting raped, ... read more

while the cover is genuinely so uncomfortable to look at (mostly because it seems to be depicting rape from what i've heard, yikes), the music is pretty decent, the main problem however is how overdramatic and painfully theater kid it is, it feels almost soulless at times and sounds less like vylet is actually passionate about what she is tackling and more like she's dressing to impress her audience, which has ... read more

Grouper - Way Their Crept
60

extremely bland and mediocre ambient music, it doesn't do anything interesting apart from a few spots in the tracklist (such as "black out" and "hold a desert, feel its hand") and most all of it feels so lazy and effortless, like she just got a keyboard, put a shit ton of reverb and distortion on her voice, and called it a day, which is disappointing considering what she would go on to do with albums like "dragging a dead deer up a hill"

Prurient - Bermuda Drain
96

definitely not his finest work and the screaming here felt strangely irritating (although it does work a lot better on "watch silently" than most tracks, mostly because of the harsh instrumental), but it makes up for that with some amazing spoken word and rather hyper but dark synthwavey instrumentals
and "sugar cane chapel" is one of his best closers to date, up there with "christ among the broken glass" from frozen niagara falls and "postscript (coke ... read more

Merzbow - Amlux
100

this review has gone through metamorphosis like three times already so i'll leave it at:
yeah this is definitely merz's best album, hands down, it's really atmospheric and haunting for a harsh noise album and it has this really suffocating atmosphere to it, don't have much to say about it but yeah

Tyler, The Creator - Bastard
44

while there are moments of genuine emotion, such as the intro and outro tracks (both of which are PEAK), too much of the album is reliant on cheap shock value and slurs, making for a very unpleasant experience. i'm glad he moved away from this shit because it's so lazy, uninspired, and honestly cringeworthy, not in an amusing way either. it's pretty boring, though i will also give credit where it's due to "sarah" and "vcr / wheels" because they ... read more

happy halloween everybody! 👻
this is basically "erosu"'s older sister, with a very eerie and disturbing atmosphere that feels like something's watching you, your body paralyzed with paranoia, a fitting album for halloween day
also how the fuck did worship make an unchanging 24-minute noise/drone piece actually work 💀 very few artists can do that and make it not boring as hell, so props to them!

Merzbow - Spirulina Green

so disappointing that such peak music has fucking ai art attached to it 😔 (tho tbh i kinda like the cover, still disappointed nonetheless)
this is the 2nd or 3rd (both this and "bon bullet" were released on the same day) installment in merzbow's new series with slowdown! it's meant to embrace the digital age more since merz has long been releasing his works physically. sounds fine, but the way it handles it, with ai of all things, isn't so great to see
now i'm ... read more

BRUHGUY3457 #2

after having a break from going through their discography, i'm finally back with another bruhguy review!!
this is some really good shit right here! now, the four songs (following "anxiety", which is such a beautiful opener) are probably some of the most unremarkable songs i've listened to; while they enhance the atmosphere, as individual songs they do nothing for me. that being said, it picks up significantly with the only single "dreaming", which ... read more

i know that the cover is TECHNICALLY legal, but it absolutely should be illegal, because WHAT IN THE ACTUAL FU-
“horse and goat” is an ep i checked out after hearing about the supposed cover, and ofc i had to look because my idiot brain once again fell for the bait. but when i found it, my eyes immediately felt like imploding, it was that disturbing and uncomfortable to even look at. i felt like i was put on the fbi's watchlist in that moment. why aaron thought this was a good ... read more

"looked into it and turns out the album is about the artist's fantasy about being raped, beaten, and murdered (which was sparked by a situation that caused a miscarriage and the artist was unable to walk, hence the title) and follows a story where they are kidnapped, raped, beaten, and ultimately killed and thrown in a lake, which is why there are so many 0s and it has such a low score also from what i've seen in the various reviews it's not a good album anyways"

On ozelzam13's review of Ethel Cain - من النهر (From the River)
"@ozelzam13 i'm sorry, but how does it suggest that israel should be eliminated for palestine to be free? i'm genuinely curious, because as far as i know, the phrase simply shows solidarity and support for the palestinian people, and anything that twists it into something negative or advocating for violence seems to me like either a biased interpretation or complete and utter propaganda."
On ozelzam13's review of Ethel Cain - من النهر (From the River)
"@ozelzam13 this is a HUGE reach in suggesting that support for the palestinians means condoning any sort of violence against israelis. hamas is not representative of palestine and its people at all, just like how the israeli government's actions are not representative of israel or its people. please can you just develop some common sense??!?!"
